The Company
Glock GesmbH established in 1963 in Deutsch-Wagram.
Their first product was plastic curtain rods.
Over the next decade, Glock GesmbH produced plastic kitchen boxes, machine gun
ammo belts, shovels, and utility knives.
It was not until 1980, Gaston Glock, the companies' founder, started to develop
what would become the worlds first successful plastic(polymer) frame pistol,
the Glock 17 9mmNATO (9x19).
In 1982 the Austrian army Choose the G17 as their official sidearm.
In 1984, the Norwegian army adopted the G17 and the radical new pistol
starts to gain popularity.
In 1985, Glock GesmbH established Glock Inc. in Smyrna, GA, USA.
The law enforcement community was quick to put this new pistol to use.
Glock has added new calibers to complement the G17 9x19.
Pistols were made in .40 S&W(G22), 10mmAuto(G20),
.45ACP(G21), and .380Auto(G25 not available in the US).

1990 G22 and G23 introduced: The first ever .40 S&W guns

1996 Atlanta Olympic Security commemorative G17 released
1997 Sub-compact G29 10mmAuto and G30 .45ACP introduced
1998 357 SIG G31(full size), G32(compact), G33(sub-compact)
G34 P/T 9x19, G35 P/T .40S&W introduced
1999 G36 Slim-line .45ACP introduced
1999 The 2,000,000th Glock was made and auctioned off for charity!
2000 G36 finally shipped to dealers
