It seems that everyone expects that everyone else should be as happy as can be on February 14 of every single year. There are many people that believe also on this day that if you give out lots of gifts that you are being good to you and others. I have reason to believe this day is just another day that businesses take advantage of the consumer. Every business will put product out for this day knowing that it will be bought at whatever price they put it at, and after the day has passed, they can drop it to a more sensible price and still make a profit.
I find that Valentine's Day is just another way to have your money spent on nothing. Most of the stuff is chocolates and the rest are stuffed animals. The stuffed animals may last one or two years (if the people don't destroy them before then), and the chocolates won't last past that week (usually). It is just another one of those days that every single store likes cashing in for. They put things up to make it look like sales, however it really isn't. The only time that a person can really get a good deal from a store for an occasion like Valentine's Day, is when you come in the next day or 2 after Valentine's Day. Everything drops in price because they want to get rid of so they can make room for the next occasion, such as Easter.
