Gavin continues. " Normally I wouldn’t bother to find out where our two little pains in the ass are, but it has come to my attention it’s rather quiet in the castle. You might wonder why a man as myself would notice such a thing but I think if you did your useless job as a mother I would never have known I had kids. But you are a hopeless mother so those two brats are always the center of attention in this castle with the noise they make." He puts down his glass of brandy on the table. " So my question to you is, where are they?"
Dominy knows their is no need to lie, he will punish her whatever answer she may give him. "They are gone Gavin, that’s all you need to know. I want my children to have the education and life they deserve but most of all I want them to grow up without the tiran who is their father. I want them to have the life I never had. An opportunity to study their magical powers and grow up to be beautiful people, not the slaves of a lord with no heart. I told you before that if you would ever hit them again I would protect them. So I did what every mother would do. I helped them escape from this underwater hell." Gavins takes one step forward and grabs her face between his hand. His fingers pressed in the bruised flesh of her jaw. "You bitch! You will pay for that and I promise you I will find them. And when I do, I will make them watch how I torture you to death." He lets her go and turns around. "Boris!!!!" A huge man enters the room and kneels down to his master. "Yes m’lord?" Patiently he waits for his commands and he tries not to notice the beautiful woman in tears by the fireplace. He knows the lord abuses his wife and kids but he it’s not his business to interfere. "My wife has sent our children away to an unknown place. I want you to find them and bring them back, alive. Tell Moira to clean up the black room. My wife and I shall stay their for a few days, she needs a lesson in obedience. Now go." The man stands up and quickly walks away. With her head lifted in pride Dominy looks at Gavin. "You will never find them and you know you will have to kill me before I ever tell you where they are." She laughs hysterical when he leaves the room in anger. The twins are save, for now.
"Keep quiet little ones, please be silent." To woman looks around her in fear. So this is the world above. She steps out of the little submarine like vehicle and walks tot the shore. The girl on her arm cries and calls out for her mother. Her bright green eyes look around for a way to return to her mother. The boy that walks next to the woman tries to be brave but his blue eyes are wet from the tears. The woman walks on with big steps not noticing how the five year old boy tries to keep up with her. The little girl sees how her brother falls down on the beach and she screams and tries to reach for him. Her flaming red hear shines in the sun when she shakes her head in frustration. The nervous woman turns around and grabs the boy by his small hand. "We have to find a place to hide Orion so move along. We have a long way to go before we reach our destiny. Stop crying Rowena, everything will be alright." At least I hope so. How is a stupid girl like me supposed to find the wizards of Mystic. The woman sighs and walks on with the twins. The sand makes place for fresh green grass that shines in the sunlight. Slowly the children go silent. Rowena falls a sleep with exhaustion, while Orion tries to remember everything he sees. From the strange colorful animals in the air to simple things like rocks and moss. With a thumb in his mouth and his other hand in that of his mothers maid he walks on. "Mae? Where are we going?" The little girl opens one eye while her sleepy thoughts try to figure out what is going on. She yawns and stretches her arms. "Rowena wants down. Rowena wants to walk just like Orion." She pouts and looks at the maid. Mae smiles and puts the redheaded girl on the ground. Rowena laughs with pride and pulls her brothers hair. "Wherever we are going Orion, it will be a better place. I can feel it."
Satisfied with his sisters words Orion let’s go of Mae’s hand and grabs that of his sister. "I trust you Rowena. We only have each other now, mother isn’t around to protect us anymore."
Mae looks at the two children and wonders where they got their wisdom. They always seem to know what’s good and what’s bad. And so time passes while they seem to walk on forever.
