This is the Master Project of
Kaetetrini, BakerCraft
Head Cook at Tillek Hold on Harper's
Tale. I decided to do this project to
demonstrate a quality description of a food item, and to
give some real life information on their ingredients.
After all, you can't roleplay cooking if you don't what
is in the food. I hope that the informtion contained here
will help those that come after me in teaching classes
and describing food items that are needed for the every
day life and special occasions on Haper's Tale Pern. A description of a food item is much more complicated than it first appears. One must describe them without any powerplaying, while still accurately portraying what the food item looks/smells/tastes like, without being too spammy. While you want someone's mouth to water when the description is read, you don't want to write 'it makes your mouth water' into the description. The following descriptions, which have been graciously provided me by the memebers of the BakerCraft, are good examples of what elements belong in a description: 1. No powerplaying 2. Accurate protrayal of the ingredients 3. Accurate portrayal of what the food looks/smells/tastes like. Get out that thesaurus, because in the BakerCraft you'll need it. |
