Where I'll be, art in tow
Ok, this is for anybody who really wants to buy my stuff for a lot cheaper than from my website: when I'm at a con, I set what I consider reasonable minimum bids for my work, generally about a third (sometimes more if a lot of work was involved) of the prices shown on the website. Of course, you could always buy it from the website --- it's always available here, rather than every few months, and you don't have to get into a bidding war with anyone 'cause the prices are already set.
Anyway, here's the list of cons (plus links, if I know them, for their sites) that I got to on a fairly regular basis:
Evecon/Castlecon: I help out with Art Show, but I don't run it (ONE Art Show is plenty!) Long, long, long delayed update: Evecon 21 was, sadly, the last FanTek con 'cause Bruce and Cheryl needed a break after running the cons for twenty years. It's very much up in the air as to whether this a long hiatus for the cons or the permanent end of them. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they'll be back.
Lunacon: I'm just there with my artwork and enjoying the con.
Philcon: Just like at Lunacon, I just show stuff and hang out.
Neko-con: I just help my boyfriend run the Vendor's Hall for this con --- someone else gets to worry about the Art Show. *Update* Paul and I have resigned from the running the Vendor's Hall for this convention and we're not sure at this time whether we're going just as attendees. If we do go, I'll bring my artwork for the Art Show. *Update 9/2/05: Paul agreed to take over the Art Show (I'll be there as his assistant director), so I and my art will be there as well.
Katsucon:
Just to make my life even more interesting: I'm the Art Show Director for
this convention. Check out the web page for info and rules (which will
be in downloadable PDF files, once I get to e-mail them to the person in
charge of the site. Otherwise, if you need this info right now, download
them from this page or contact me if you're having problems with downloading
these files) --- among other things, there'll be a couple small parties
in the Art Show. Yes I survived the K6 Art Show --- now I've survived the
K7 and K8 Art Shows. The con moved up to Baltimore for K8, but we're coming
back to our old haunts for Katsucon 9.Some of the rules have been tweaked
a bit, but are much the same as last year.
Well, K9 KO'ed me. I've resigned from running the Katsucon Art Show. Very high stress equating to guaranteed brain meltdown by the end of the weekend is the reason for this decision. It may only be a sabbatical, depending on how the new crew works out.
Anime Mid-Atlantic: Just to prove that I am insane, I am Art Show Co-ordinator for this con. Yes, I have resigned from running one Art Show to running another one. You can get the control sheets and bids from the convention's website.
Balticon: I'm starting to show up at this one on a regular basis, but it's only with art in tow --- I haven't given in and volunteered to do ANYTHING, 'cause just being an attendee (instead of a staffer/volunteer) makes for a very relaxing break.
World Fantasy Convention:
I made a one-time appearance here in 2003 'cause it was in D.C. (which is local for me) that year. I had some stuff in the Print Shop.
