You enter a large, immaculate vault. The ceiling arches high above your head, making
you feel somewhat small. What makes you feel even smaller are the shelves full of books
surrounding you and filling most of the vault. The rows of shelves continue several yards
to either side of you with tables and benches for reading scattered among them.
Each shelf reaching high over your head and completely filled with tomes of varying ages.
Some tomes seem to be so old and delicate that they may crumble with a touch. Others seem
to be newly bound. You wonder how anyone could read all these books in one lifetime, yet
still you may wish to try.
You search the spines of the nearest few books, looking for something that would interest
you. Among the nearest of the books are:
"Short Fiction Collection."
"The Wheel of Time."
"Art Galleries."
"Mega Man."
"Advanced Dungeons and Dragons."
"HTML Help."
"Band."
"Random Thoughts."
"A Little Bit of Information About Covarla."
"Webring."
The wardens of the vault enter. Miraculously not a single grain of dust is stirred by the
two adopted creature's passing.
The first
introduces herself as Riana, the Sea Dragon. She explains that she is in charge of the
maintenance of the vault. She tells you that she is in charge of Acknowledgements.
She also mentions that she is in charge of keeping the vault's tomes in good condition.
The second warden
introduces herself a Adria, the Griffin. She explains that she is in charge of getting new
information for in the vault. She shows you to the Log of Changes
and also refers you to a recently changed book called Untitled
Story."
Before they turn to leave they point out a few other things. Adria points to several doors
out in the hallway. "Those doors lead to some of our boss' friends. The first one is
where you can adopt others like us. You can also see other creatures adopted by Covarla in
this room." Each door is clearly marked with a sign to
tell you what is beyond:
"Adopt a Dragon or
Griffin"
![]()
"Wedding Peach Page"
"Shara's Limitless Insanity"
"Gryvon's World"
"Almighty Kefka's Domain"
"Carina's Madhouse"
"Emily's Home"
"Joel's Room"
Adria then shows you a book on another shelf entitled "Other
Places to see." "This one may lead you somewhere interesting."
Riana leads you to a small desk near the entrance to the vault. She motions toward a small
book with blank pages that sits near a inkwell and pen. " Sign there if you wish to
leave a message about the vault. You can See what others have said.
If there's anything else you need to know, you can reach our boss, Covarla, by sending her a message."
