Brief Description: (physical appearance & personality): Tyla is 5' 6" and very lanky. She has short, always mussed red hair and golden-green eyes. She has a pert nose with freckles sprinkled across the bridge and has been told she looks rather "pixie-ish."

History:
Tyla was raised in Caemlyn by her mother, a young whore who was addicted to heroine. As a child, she befriended an elderly traveling entertainer named Galen who made what little money he had playing music on street corners and working at various fairs. For reasons Tyla never understood, he was fiercely protective of her. When she was seven, he began teaching her how to play his flute so that, even though she had nothing like a standard education, Tyla would have something she could do to make money and she would never have to end up like her mother. Tyla picked up flute playing with remarkable ease, and for her tenth birthday, Galen presented her with her own (though a bit worn) flute. Galen left Caemlyn a few weeks later, as he always did that time of year, but he never returned. To this day, Tyla doesn't know what happened to him.
When Tyla was twelve ears old, her mother was killed, beaten to death by one of her johns. Upon finding her mother's body in the tiny, cockroach-infested apartment they shared, Tyla gathered what few things she had and left Caemlyn. She traveled for a bit, making enough to eat playing her flute on street corners, until she came to a place called New Manetheren. It was there that she discovered an that she had a rather odd talent; she could often heal wounds and sickness by singing. Tyla made a home for herself in New Manetheren and stayed there for several years.
Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, Tyla was approached by a woman while she was playing. The woman's name was Kaitlyn, she explained, and she was a member of the Purple Tower, a group of artists who had split away from the White Tower. Kaitlyn offered Tyla a place in the Purple Tower, where she could further her studies in music and learn more about her abilities with the One Power, which were the cause of her odd ability to heal. After much contemplation, she accepted the offer and became a Studè in the Purple Tower.
