Common Words and Phrases used by the Syreen
So you're unsure about certain things said by the Syreen? Well check out the list below for some of the more common ones.
- Awien:
- 1. The sworn protectors of the head of the Syreen Alliance
2. A member of that group
- Caster:
- A skilled user of the Lei lines. See also Lei Lines.
- Chi-mo:
- Syreenian for "Two". See also Geek-co, Seekta.
- Geek-co:
- Syreenian for "Three". See also Chi-mo, Seekta.
- Gertlaine:
- Beloved, the one you will always return to... even if you are mated to others. See also Imzadi.
- Hir:
- The word Syreen use to refer to someone else... it takes the place of the common, "Her" or "Him" found in most other cultures. See also Hish, S/He.
- Hish:
- Syreenian Language term used to show possesion of something. In other cultures it's two sperate ideas, that of "Hers" and/or "His". See also Hir, S/He.
- Imzadi:
- Ones first mate, one's first love. It doesn't have quite the same connotations that it does on Betazed. See also Gertlaine.
- Lei Lines:
- The source of power in the universe... they have been called many things, among them The Force or The Way. See also Caster.
- Maj� (or Majo):
- One's mate.
- The Mothership:
- The ship that brought them from Syra, it exists everywhere and no where. Syreen can always get there, but people from other species have to wait until it is "in" their galaxy.
- OPSCOM:
- The acronym for "Our paths Shall Cross Once More", which is a common Syreen farewell, usually to someone you know you will see again, and in response to "Until Our Paths Cross Once More". See also UOPCOM.
- Seekta:
- Syreeian for "one". See also Chi-mo, Geek-co.
- Senal and Jenal:
- Legendary lovers. The story goes that Senal had to fight many horrid creatures in order to prove hish love for Jenal... *and* that Jenal had been rooting for hir the whole time.
- Sen�tal:
- Syreenian for "Bite Me!"
- S/He:
- (with a seperately pronounced 'H') The word Syreen use to blankly refer to someone, "She" and/or "He" in other cultures. See also Hir, Hish.
- Suspr�nk:
- Syreenian for "Drop Dead"
- UOPCOM:
- The acronym for "Until Our Paths Cross Once More", a common Syreenian farewell, that expresses ones desire to see the other person again. See also OPSCOM.
- PHOBIC:
