ARENA MASTER INSTRUCTIONS

PRE BATTLE

  1. Get Pre Battle paper work from all combatants from Stant and Lichram.  Let them know who has asked you to moderate.
  2. Use Rates Charts to pre figure total dodges, and auto items (Life Stone Amulet, RoRegen, Kyia's Hugs, ect.)
  3. Decide on battle location (Not Important at this time, can play without it.  Can allow for special situations though.)
  4. Acceptable Locations are:
  5. Use 1d8, choose hot # for falling, tripping, drowning, limited movement.  1 round delay if effect occurs.
  6. Inform players and audience of chests and fountains and other obstacles that could be in the way.
  7. Inform of conditions.  (Not Important at this time.)
  8. Assign attacking orders for the first round.

DURING BATTLE

  1. Have all Pre Battle character sheets present and filled out for faster battles.  (Notice that Mana and Stamina aren't being calculated yet.  Use your best judgement to limit them)
  2. Ask for all players moves (2 actions per round), via whisper or Instant Message to keep moves secret.  Movements like advancing and retreating to safe distances are counted as moves, it does have importance in battle.  If a person swinging a sword it 10 feet away fom their target, they're gonna miss, automatically.
  3. Roll 5d40 against targets Dodge to see if attack is successfull.
  4. Follow Multiplier Charts Instructions for Damage assessment.
  5. Damage is assigned by attacking order, (swift attacks hold priority over this rule).  If a person is killed before their attack is calculated, their last attack still goes through (All attacks are technically done simultaneously).
  6. Roll for area special conditions.  (1d8 is used.  Arena Master chooses a # to be his/her hot # for effect to occur)
  7. Be creative in announcing damage to players.  It adds a little flare to things.
  8. In the case of Area Affects, roll 2d20's and pick 2 hot #'s to see if audience gets hit too.  (Randomly Choose Audience member(s) who are hit, it can even be everybody, including the Arena Master.)
  9. If Audience is hit, they are allowed to retaliate.  (Take their word on attack and skill level.)
  10. Players Cannot intentionally hit Audience nor respond to Audience retaliations.
  11. Assign Battle order for next round.
