(Because of the time difference, I'm assuming that while it's
night in Hong Kong, it's day in the US.)
~Hong Kong ~
After about a half an hour, Chun Li picked herself up and
straightened out her coat. Taking one last glance at the
breathtaking view and walked away
only known to her that
something was left behind. Something that tore her heart into two
the
memory of a love
possibly the only man she could ever love.
A few moments after walking toward the direction of her home, she
decided to take a different, longer route. Glancing at the
midnight sky, she raised her eyebrows.
*
day for changes
*
Wrapping her arms around her body to shield herself from the
strong winds, she turned toward the alleyway on the left.
After greeting the doorman, Chun Li walked towards the elevator.
"Excuse me, Miss."
She looked up and saw a man in his mid twenties. After giving a
curious look, he spoke again.
"The elevator is out of order right now."
She smiled. "Oh, thank you. I didn't notice, there's usually
a sign posted when that happens."
He grinned widely. "No problem. If you don't mind me saying,
you are very beautiful."
Chun Li blushed heavily. It wasn't rare that men would try to
pick her up, but never this directly.
"Thank you, but if you'd pardon me, I'll be heading up the
stairs."
He gave a nod as she turned toward the other direction. Once she
was out of sight, he shifted out of view and tapped lightly on
the piece placed hidden in his ear.
"She's on her way up."
Turning the key, Chun Li pushed open the door, as an unnoticed
shadow disappeared. She went to the phoneand checked her messages.
-Beep-
"Hey Chun! What's up girl? I just wanted to tell you that I'll
be in Hong Kong for a while and thought that we should definitely
get together! I haven't seen you in a 'long' time, and we have
plenty to catch up on. Give me a call. Bye!"
Chun Li smiled. She and Cammy had been best friends since the
first day they met. They got along like
sisters would.
-Beep-
She stared at the machine and rolled her eyes. *Another hang up.
Why can't people leave messages?! It's not 'that' hard. *
-"End of messages." The mechanical voice stated.
She sighed and made a mental note to call Cammy in the morning.
Heading into the bedroom, she stopped in her tracks by a night
table with a pile of mail. Wincing, she picked up the envelope
that was sent to her yesterday. A face of holding back tears,
turned into one with one determination. Taking in a deep breath,
the envelope was tossed into a near by trash can. She opened the
door to her room and turned on the lights.
Before being able to take one step in, a strong grip was placed
around her hips and over her mouth. A voice hissed into her right
ear.
"Guess who?"
