Street Fighter 2

Chapter 15

Guile checked his watch as he drove through the suburbs of Los Angeles. 18:27. He was going to have to floor it in order to save Ken's life.
After he arrived at El Toro military airbase, near the city of Los Angeles, Guile immediately took a jeep and drove toward the house Ken had just moved into. The Shadowloo soldiers were going to attack tonight. They always attacked as early as they can, and at night. If Guile didn't reach the home by sundown, then Ken would probably be killed.
He looked to the horizon. The sun was slowly setting across the west, and made a beautiful red sky across a darkening landscape. As pretty as it was, Guile knew he was running out of time. He floored the accelerator, and drove on to the Crisis Area.
He noticed a storm was brewing from the south east. How goddamn appropriate.

Meanwhile, Ken was busy cooking the dinner party he planned for Fei Long. Due to Eliza's pregnancy, she couldn't do as much in the kitchen, but that didn't matter. Ken knew how to cook, he was good at it.
As the rice and dishes fried in the wok, Eliza walked in.
"Fei and Shaun are getting along. Are you sure you want to cook a traditional Chinese meal?"
"Fei hasn't had a decent Chinese meal ever since he came to Hollywood. I thought he'd like one."
"Perhaps your right."
"Aren't I always?"
Eliza hugged Ken tightly. "Of course. You're always arrogant, as well."
Ken smiled. His arrogance had lessened as he got older, and decreased a lot more ever since he got himself married. But that old Masters youthfulness was still there.
Unfortunately, Ken and Eliza's romantic moment was spoiled due to a power failure that blacked out the whole house. Ken emitted a low groan.
"Great. I plan a good dinner party for my friends, and this happens." Ken cursed as he switched off the gas cooker.

Outside, the five Shadowloo soldiers, covered in black clothing, wearing night-vision goggles, and carrying Heckler & Koch MP5Ks, save for the sniper, who had a silenced PSG1 and was sitting in the tree overlooking the driveway in front of the door, watched as one of the group cut off the phone lines and electricity, and one of the others walked up to the front door.
In total, there were seven of them, each to do his lord Bison's bidding, and kill anyone who was in that house.

Ken, Fei Long and Shaun managed to find some torches and flashed them around the house, collecting candles and lighting them while Eliza called the electricity board. The lightning flashed everywhere as the storm raged on.
After several tries and button pressing, Eliza gave up. "It's no good, I can't get a dial tone. The telephone lines must have gone down as well from this storm."
"Wait a sec," said Ken, walking up to the sideboard. "I'll get my mobile phone."
As he picked it up though, the front door knocked several times.
"Who the hell could that be?" Fei Long asked. They hadn't called the electricity board yet, something had to be wrong.
Ken put the phone in his pocket, and walked up to the door. He looked through the keyhole, and saw a man in an electrician's uniform. There was a van outside the drive way.
"They must have been around here when the power blew. Talk about service."
Ken opened the door. The person in front of him smiled, and withdrew a silenced Glock 17 pistol at Ken. Ken looked at the gun, then looked at the man.
Suddenly, a lone bullet impacted through the gunman's skull and came out of the other side, with an eruption of blood and brain tissue on each side.
Ken watched as the man fell down and died on the porch. He looked out and saw Colonel Guile leap onto the porch, run, turn at the front door, and bring Ken down as the PSG1 fired several times from the tree and hit the carpet behind them both. Guile pulled out his Colt 1911 Government model, and fired at where the shots came from, and the sniper crashed down to the driveway below. It was then that the MP5Ks fired all around the house. Guile picked up Ken and ran with him to the dining room, in the center of the house. Eliza screamed as the shots erupted all around them. The house was pretty far from anywhere, so help wasn't going to arrive for a while. Some of the candles shook as Ken and Guile crouched under the table.
"Nice to see you to Guile. Who the hells shooting at me?"
"Shadowloo, Ken. Lord Bison's back and want's you dead." They ducked under the table as the gunfire failed to cease.
"What the fuck are you talking about? Bison's dead!"
"I'll explain later. Right now, this gun is your only defense."
Ken reached his mobile phone and called his father's.
"Dad, it's me, Ken. I'm in trouble."
"Ken," The father replied with a stern voice. "I'm at a dinner party, remember. I told you not to call me at this time."
"But Dad, I'm under….."
"No 'buts'. I told you not to call me now."
Ken's voice shouted at him in anger. "DAD, WILL YOU JUST LIST…."
Guile snatched the phone from Ken's hand. "Mr. Masters? I'm Colonel William F. Guile. We've met before. Now, do you hear this?"
He held the phone out so that Ken's father could hear the sound of the gunfire all over the house. He fired a few shots from his own gun to emphasize the point.
He put the phone back to his ear. "That is the sound of your only son and his wife being attacked by several Shadowloo assassins. If you want him to live, I suggest that you get some help over here, now……..I don't know, bring your Security team here, just get here, NOW."
He switched the phone off and laid it on the floor. "Wonderful father of yours."
Suddenly, one of the gunmen kicked the kitchen door down. Ken ran to the side of the door, out of sight from the enemy and hidden in the darkness. As the gunman walked past, Ken forward-kicked the MP5K from the gunman's hands, then Guile turned from the table and faced the disarmed gunman.
"SONIC BOOM!"
The twirling energy smashed straight into the gunman's body. The gunman fell onto his back, unconscious.
Ken quickly picked up the fallen gun. "Now we've got something else."
Another gunman ran through the door and fired at Guile, who managed to get out of the way. Ken fired several rounds at the gunman, who hid behind the doorway, the shots causing huge holes in the door. Every time Ken fired, he turned and hid behind the wall as the gunman fired back. Wanting to end the stalemate, Ken ran into the kitchen, firing the gun until he was just behind the doorway. As the man turned to fire, Ken kicked the man in the face, breaking his night-vision goggles. Ken grabbed the man's coat and threw him to the side. The gunman's face fell into the boiling hot oil inside the wok, and he pulled himself back, screaming as the oil burned his face.

Shaun noticed from the candle light that one of the gunmen was in the living room, creeping behind them. Ken was too busy in the kitchen, and Guile had gone upstairs to check a noise that had just been heard by him. That left only him, Eliza and Fei Long.
He felt new determination in him, as he felt that maybe he could help.
He ran up to the person and tried to concentrate his energy into his hands. Before the gunman saw him, Shaun felt he was ready and thrusted his hands forward. A burst of energy appeared from his hands as he cried out, and impacted into the gunman's chest, flooring him.
Shaun cheered. "I did it! I did it! I did a hadok……"
He never finished the sentence as the very man he had floored fired a bullet which impacted into his ribcage and sent Shaun to the ground.
"Shaun!" Eliza screamed. Fei Long managed to pull him to Eliza and she held on, taking a napkin from the table and placing it over the wound so as to stop the blood flow.
"Take care of him." Fei Long told Eliza as he ran to the living room. He leapt over the bullets and kicked the gun out of the gunman's hand. Then he kicked off the night-vision goggles and proceeded to attack powerfully. He launched his Rekka-Ken, punching rapidly to the face, stomach and then the chest. Then he spun his body around. His leg burst into flame as it kicked up into the man's chin and set his clothes alight. The man went flying as a human fireball as Fei Long spun in the air with his leg outstretched high. The man crashed through the window and landed on the wet grass outside. The force of Fei Long's attack made him unconscious, so he didn't notice as his skin burned and he died as the rain battled to put the flames out. By the time they did, he was already dead.
Fei ran back to Shaun, who now had Ken kneeled over him. They had to get him to a hospital.
Suddenly, a loud bump was heard upstairs. Guile. Ken ran upstairs to help the man who had just saved his life.

Guile was in the attic, the noise that he heard was getting louder. He placed the flash light in the dark room on a table, so that some light could be shed, as there were no lit candles in the attic. He walked a few steps, with his Colt 1911 ready. Suddenly, someone jump kicked the gun out of his hand. Another person sent the stunned Guile flying with a powerful uppercut. Guile managed to spin in mid-air and land on his feet, looking up to see his attackers. The two assassins stood side by side and removed their NVGs, revealing their faces. They were female. One had long auburn hair, with a sinister look on her, the other had short ginger hair, her face expressionless and unemotional.
Guile recognized them from what Cammy had told him about Bison's brainwashing. A couple of years, she and Chun Li destroyed Bison's brainwashing plant where Cammy had once been brainwashed herself. They managed to rescue several of the brainwashed assassins and made them normal human beings again. However, a few survived and escaped, continuing to be Bison's loyal servants. The two most dangerous ones were standing in front of him at this very moment.
Juli, and Juni.
Ken appeared at the top of the attic stairs and saw Guile's predicament. "Two against one. Not very fair, mind if I even the odds?"
Ken threw the gun away, and joined Guile's side, adopting a fighting stance.
For a moment, no-one moved. Then, all of a sudden, the girls dashed forward and attacked the enemy head on. Ken and Guile had to step sideways to avoid the Shadowloo assassin's charges.
Then the battle started in full. The girls attacked with no distinctive pattern, each one fighting separately then attacking one person at a time. Ken and Guile had a hard time keeping up with the girls' speed. Every time they launched an attack, the girls jumped over and attacked from behind.
Ken had just recovered from a kick to the ribs from Juli when he recognized their weak spot. What ever fighting stance he assumed, they always nullified it by jumping in the air. All he needed to do was attack from the air, or at least, an attack that was used to knock opponents out of the air. He had the perfect one.
He looked up and faced Juli, who was running up to him. As she launched herself in the air, Ken charged all his power into his fist, and launched as Juli was right above him.
"SHIN SHORYUKEN!"
Ken's body spun as his fist, which had been engulfed in flames, connected with Juli's chest, who had opened her mouth in surprise. The fist caused a circle of fire as Ken twisted his body, and as they reached the roof of the attic, Juli was pressed against the wall, Ken's fist twisting her flesh as he span. Finally, Ken fell, landing on his feet, and Juli fell, unconscious, lying on the floor.
Juni saw Juli's unconscious form on the floor of the attic, but said nothing and showed no emotion as she ducked another roundhouse kick by Guile. She then powered her body and jumped straight up in the air, her body upside down and spinning. Guile was kicked in the chin as her legs went upwards, and received several hits as she span, sending him crashing to the ground.
Juni turned her body upright and was about to land onto Guile body feet-first when Guile flipped onto his feet and launched a flash kick. Juni crashed into floor. She staggered up to see several Sonic Booms smash into her body and she crashed against the wall. She staggered upright and saw Ken and Guile standing side by side, ready to admit victory.
Juni knew that the battle had been lost. She ran down the stairs, only to have a frying pan smash into her face. She fell down onto her back.
Ken looked down the stairs to see Eliza, frying pan in hand, stand over the unconscious form of Juni.
"See? Even when pregnant I'm not entirely helpless." said Eliza with a smile. Ken smiled back and laughed.
They ran back to Fei Long, who was pushing the cloth on Shaun's wound, stopping the blood flow, while Eliza had gone upstairs.
Unfortunately, he had a MP5K being pointed at him by the man that had dipped his head in the wok beforehand. His whole face had severe burns, and he was in no mood for a talk. There was nothing Ken and Guile could do to save them.
He was about to pull the trigger, when several bloody holes appeared in his body, accompanied by a loud shotgun noise. The gunmen fell limply to reveal what killed him. A man holding a Mossberg 500 Series Shotgun, wearing a logo that was not Shadowloo's, stood at the kitchen doorway. Ken recognized him as a member of his father's Intelligence and Security division.
"Took you long enough to show up."
"You're lucky we showed up at all, Mr. Masters." replied the man, who was joined by several others.

Several hours later, Ken and Eliza were sitting near Shaun, who slept in a hospital bed and had an oxygen mask attached to him. Despite Eliza and Fei Long's best efforts, Shaun had lost quite a lot of blood. The doctors operated him quickly, and said there was a good chance he might survive.
Ken walked out of the room, leaving Eliza inside. Guile and Fei Long waited outside.
"How's he doing?" asked Fei Long.
"He's asleep at the moment. He'll live, but he probably won't wake up for a while."
"That's good." said Guile.
Ken turned his head towards Guile. "Guile, what did you mean when you said that Bison was back. He's dead now, remember."
"We received a communication a couple of days ago, from Bison. When we checked the video message, it was 100% accurate. Bison is back."
"You got to be shitting me. Then Ryu……"
"Is the one in danger. Bison wants Ryu, and he hoped your death would force Ryu to find Bison and kill him in revenge. He would have been lured into a trap."
"We got to find Ryu and warn him." Ken told Guile.
"No. We can't. If Ryu found out about this, he would have go…."
He was interrupted by his mobile phone ringing. He flipped it open and put it to his ear.
"Hello?…….Hey, Cammy, what's up……..don't worry, I just saved Ken….Yeah?……so Ryu's with Chun Li?……..that's good, keep me posted. I'm taking Ken to El Toro now. Alright."
He put the phone back into his pocket. "They found Ryu. He's staying with Chun Li in her apartment in Hong Kong."
Lucky him, Ken thought.
"He still doesn't know about this, and it's best to keep it that way. In the meantime, I've got orders to take you and your wife to El Toro, for protection."
"But, what about Shaun?"
"Don't worry, Ken." said Fei Long, "I'll take care of him till he wakes up."
"Thanks, Fei."

Take care of Ryu, Chun Li, Ken thought as he left the hospital with Eliza. Guile was waiting for them in the jeep outside, talking to Cammy about the previous night's encounter with two of her previous kind. If Cammy could persuade them to tell her where the Shadowloo headquarters were, they might have a chance after all.
They drove to El Toro, unaware of the fact that Bison was angry at the failure to kill him. He would never have a second chance. But then again, he always had a way of making his plans work out…..
