When they finally arrived at Gea's house her mother was in the
kitchen cooking a small turkey and making some tea. When Gea
walked in, her mother turned to her and ran up to hug her
daughter, unaware of Lacey standing in the doorway. Her mother
finally released the hug, and asked Gea a small question. "Gea
I was worried sick. Where were you? Did they find us again?"
Gea began to answer, slowly but clearly. "Mummy they found
us again, I went to the library to see something and they chased
after me, but Saber saved me mummy, oh she was wonderful!"
Her mother looked around. "Who is Saber?"
Gea had forgotten about her guest waiting outside so she hurried
out and welcomed Saber inside. Gea smiled at Saber. "Mummy
this is Saber, the woman who saved me from the Turks."
As Saber walked into the room Gea's mother froze, and so did
Saber. Each noticed the crystal around each others necks, and
noticed something funny, yet familiar about each other. Lacey
walked into the room and sat down next to Gea.
Lacey reached out for the mothers hand, though was still a bit
shaky. "Hello Ms. Wolf. Um, thank you for saving my daughter,
I appreciate it." said Gea's mother calmly, but stiffly.
Saber Wolf smiled and nodded. "Oh don't worry, it's nothing,
really. I just want to know something. Where did you get that?"
Saber Wolf said a little nervously.
Gea's mother was a little reluctant to say, but managed to get it
out. "It was given to me by my mother when I was small."
Saber Wolf nodded, and released her grip. "Oh! I'm sorry my
name is Kristin, I am an archeologist." said Gea's mother, a
little more trusting than a minute ago. "Will you stay the
night? I really appreciate you saving Gea, she is all the family
I have left. My husband left us when Gea was born, and my sister
is dead, passed away in an accident back in Junion."
"Of course" Saber Wolf said. Gea smiled and brought
Saber Wolf to her room.
Later that night Gea woke up and stepped on the floor, where
Saber Wolf lay.
"Saber, wake up please, I want to tell you something."
Saber rolled over to look at the young girl. It was dark in the
room, but she could still clearly see the girls blonde hair, and
pale, fair skin.
"Saber, those people were not after me to get to my mother,
they were after me for this." Gea pulled out a string from
around her neck, on the end was a golden key.
Saber's eyes widened, and she knew what it was. It was the key to
the temple in the city of ancients, but how did Saber recognize
it!!??
Saber Wolf sat staring at Gea, a thousand questions running
through her head. "Gea, where did you get that key? And what
is it for?" asked Saber Wolf as she began to shiver.
"Well, Saber my mummy found it a long time ago, and daddy
tried to take it away from her, he even tried to hurt mummy.
Daddy wouldn't hurt me though, so mummy gave it to me to hide and
mummy told daddy she lost it. Mummy thinks it belongs to the wind
goddesses temple from the markings on it."
Gea finished and looked innocently at Saber Wolf. That has
answered most of Saber Wolf's questions except for three. Who was
Gea's father, why did I know what the key was, and what was that
red crystal around Kristen's neck? Gea's mother seemed so
familiar and.......
Saber was cut off when they heard a gunshot and a scream outside.
Both of them leaned out the bedroom window and saw a horrifying
sight. The Turks were back, and they had Gea's mother.
Kristin screamed with all her might, and tried to awaken the
neighborhood so that she might have a chance to escape. The
leader fired his rifle, silencing Kristin. Gea screamed and tried
to run to her mother, but Saber grabbed her and quieted her.
"Gea if you scream they will get you too. Stay quiet, don't
worry we will get her back."
Tears streaked down Gea's cheeks, and she let them flow freely,
and she managed to whimper. "They are going to kill her I
know It they are going too..." Gea was interupted when they
heard a crash coming from downstairs.
The Turks had found a way into the house. Saber grabbed her
shacrum, and her supplies. Then, she grabbed Gea and latched her
to her back. "Gea, hold on we have to get out of here, hold
on tight so you don't fall."
Gea gripped on to Saber's back and wrapped her legs around Saber's
waist. Saber raised her thumb to signal Gea to get ready, and she
jumped out of the window, grasping the roof and swinging on to
the rooftops.
Saber swiftly jumped from roof to roof until she gained the
nearest food shop. She set Gea on the roof and tied her there so
that she would not fall. Then Saber lowered herself down to a
window. She pulled out a small crowbar from her pack and slid
open the window. Saber lowered herself inside, and read a sign
that was in the window.
"Open all week, except Sunday's."
"Great" Saber shouted. Today was Sunday, so Saber
climbed back to the roof and got Gea, then they both entered the
Shop together.
Gea quickly headed toward the back of the store and found some
blankets and pillows. While Gea was doing that, Saber opened an
airduct in the celing. Saber crawled untill she found where the
tip of the roof would be, then she cut a hole in the duct with
her Shacrum. After the duct was cut through Saber raised herself
into the space that was left. On top of the airduct was a small
penthouse, almost, and it was just warm enough.
Saber smiled in satisfaction. "This will be a great place
for Gea to hide, it has plenty of room, it's warm, and I can
easily bring up enough food for her."
Saber crawled back dow to get Gea and they both went into the
"pent house" above the air duct. While Gea curled up
amidst the pillows and blankets, Saber brought up enough food for
2 weeks.
After Saber decided her work was through she fell asleep next to
Gea.
The sun rose, and small beams of light penetrated through the
boards to their right, waking them both. Saber made Gea an egg
breakfast using the travel cook set she stole from the shop.
"Now Gea, you have to stay up here untill I come back with
your mother. I brought you enough food for 2 weeks, in case
somehting should happed to me. I expect to back in a few days. If
you end up needing more food, at night you may sneak down and get
some, but I prefer you only do it on Sundays when the owner is
away."
Gea nodded and finished her eggs.
Gea smiled, the food was very good. "Don't take too long now
Saber. I will miss you too much."
Saber returned the smile and was about to leave when a question
entered her mind. "Gea who is your father?"
Gea frowned and bowed her head as to hide her face. "My
father is....is...."
