Back to Main Page.The word Animè (pronounced u-nee-may) in japanese means cartoon/s, but in our language it refers to Japanese cartoons. The amount of Animè on Australian Television is starting to increase. Most is shown on SBS such as Akira (which will be shown again at 9:30 PM on December 19) and Neon Genesis Evangelion (starting January 2nd at 8:30 PM). Other stations are starting to show more Animè as well. Channel 7 was playing Sailor Moon and are hopefully going to start playing them again soon with the 17 new translated episodes.
Channel 10's Cheez TV has played some Animè. They have played the full series of Teknoman twice and played some of the episodes of Eagle Riders. Now they are showing Pokèmon at 8:00 mondays to thursdays.
