Pokèmon is a great RPG for Gameboy. The purpose of the game is the same as the Animè (It was actually based on the game). You must collect Pokèmon, raise them and train them, then use them in battles to receive experience points and Pokèmon Trainer badges. You must also beat Professor Oak's grandson Gary. You must collect at least one type of Pokèmon to complete you Pokèdex, which is like an encyclopaedia containing information about Pokèmon.
There are two versions of Pokèmon available in Australia, Red and Blue. I believe in Japan there are other versions such as Gold/Pikachu and Green. The stories and characters in both games are the same. The difference is the type and availability of Pokèmon. To collect all 150 Pokèmon (I have heard a rumour that there are actually 151 and the only way the get the last Pokèmon was to trade it with someone from Nintendo. If anyone knows if this is true please mail me) you must link two gameboys with a different version of the game in each and trade Pokèmon. While linked you can also battle a friend with between 1 and 6 Pokèmon at a time.
I will be constructing a list of all the Pokèmon and what they evolve into as I find them, so check back often.
