Lace's Tales

~ The Emperor's Campaign

Entry 3

Tonight we sat and discussed Harlock's Hold again. It is our

duty to free the dwarves, and we will do so. It will not be an

easy fight, but then again, nothing is lately. Apollo asked me

to teach him the ways of command, and I have agreed to teach

him what I know. I will ask my mother and grandmother to

help in this though, as I am still young, and have not had their

experience. We learned more of Silk and her recent plans.

It seems she has three daughters who lead her armies for her.

This does not bode well, and we will have to be very careful.

When I told the other sisters Myrell said Verquillion would

have more information on Silk's thinking, due to his age. I'd

love to meet this great elf I have heard and read so much

about, but how? Myrell told me that he had a weakness for

young maidens in need, especially from my family. I opened

Kyri's journals, and read of Verquillion. She loved him so

much, and it made me very sad that she never had a chance

to tell him. I tried to picture what he must look like, then said

a small prayer that he would hear me and help me. Within a

few minutes there was a knock at my door, and a guard telling

me that the emperor had requested my presence in a meeting .

I of course got dresed and went to see him, and there was the

most stunning man I had ever seen. He was very large for an

elf, and in perfect physical condition. He greeted me...it was

Verquillion. I couldn't believe my luck, and neither could

Kelson I think. We spoke of many things, then I asked to

speak to him privately and gave him my great-grandmother

Kyri's journals to take home to Miessa. That's where she would

have wanted them I think. He told me her death brought him

grief, and was a great loss for Ellannis. I got the feeling he had

cared for...maybe he will help me rescue her body and give

her a proper burial? I'll have to speak to him later on this.

I've decided I must try to find the Armor and Sword of

wounding that King Karnak once wore. It belongs to my

family, and rightfully to Kelson. I believe it to be in Kazgoroth

still, which means dealing with Martyrian.

Overall, it was a night of surprises, but this time good ones.
