Benerin: A Brief History
By the Scribe of Saltmarsh
And lo did the mage of limited abilities come forth into the town of Saltmarsh. There was a secret most sinister afoot, and the puny mage was seeking to further his reputation by solving the puzzle most vexing...
Benerin he was called, and small were his capabilities. Barely out of the Academy of Silverymoon did he come. Companions most weak did follow and one mighty cleric of the little known Goddess Eilistraee. And so, a party of one mage, one fine looking wench(the cleric), one fighter who was also a thief and a part time mage and yet another fighter, thief, mage.
So together did the rather pathetic party set forth on their quest to discover the Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. Of course the party returned successful after many return trips to the Abbey of a High Priestess of the Dark Maiden.
After their deeds were sunk by the town crier, the intrepid party set forth upon a quest to save the small village of Saltmarsh from the destruction by the evil Tsugin invaders. Return successful they did.
Now they were no small powers. Already to powerful for the poor peasant folk of Saltmarsh. They proceeded to seek out the enemy who had been haunting them since the completion of their mighty campaign in Saltmarsh.
The Crimson Brotherhood. They found no sign of them in Saltmarsh so they began wondering the realms looking most earnestly for the evil organisation.
Thrice did they encounter the brotherhood and their minions most foul and thrice were they succesful in bringing defeat to the Brotherhood.
By now the party had grown in power and had seen many come and go.
It was with no small amount of power and new found magical items that the party most fearsome sallied forth to their next meeting with the Brotherhood.
However on the way they were surprised by a meddling mix of The Evil Drow and a group of Evil Humans. They were taken to an unknown location where they were tattooed with evil insignia and compelled to act on behalf of those evil organisations who had participated in this deed so foul.
The by now mighty party set forth on a quest most grave to clear the evil from their bodies and minds. First did they defeat the Evil Fire Knives and rescue the Crown Princess of Cormyr.
Second did they defeat the Evil Red Wizard of Thay, the Mighty Draconis, and his pet Dragolich was slain by an amazing act of kindness by the Goddess Tymora who saw fit to turn the Dragolich to stone via the mighty mages Wand of Wonders.
While a powerful item our ever wise mage knew the risks of such an item and quickly disposed of it.
Third did they go on to defeat the Evil Priestess of Moander, a god best left dead or banished.....
Now do they go to the great Zhenthril Keep to face the evil that awaits there.
Here my story ends for I have followed far in the company of the great mage, but I do not wish to travel with them to The Stronghold of the Zhents.
Good luck to our intrepid adventurers. May The Lady be with them...
