The Hall of Heroes

Welcome to the Hall of Heroes, have you ever noticed how some groups of roleplayers don't like clerics?, and due to this fact, they don't have any healers and always get killed, or perhaps the adventure you planned is a bit hard for them alone, or maybe you just need an NPC to get the adventure going. In any case, NPCs, especially the ones that are in the party for the long run, are always an excelent source for adventures and roleplaying situations.

In the following pages you will find several NPCs for use in your AD&D campaign, most of them have been played before and they work nicely, I would just like to clarify some things:

First: I do not include rolled hit points, the reason for this is quite simple; everyone plays differently, some people roll hit points in a certain way, others don't roll at all, so I tell you the dices you should roll (example; a level 5 cleric will have 5d8 hit points), you should determine hit points according to your preferences and type of campaign.

Second: for the same reasons (some DMs don't give magical items, others give a lot), as far as magical equipment goes, I've included the absolutely necessary to keep the character's "flavor" intact, you may wish to give them some more.

Third: every DM appreciates a good NPC, and if you've got a good one, I'd certainly appreciate if you found the time to send it to me, and don't worry, I'm not a thief, if you made it, you get the credit for it.

And fourth: I'll update this section regularly, I have lots and lots of NPCs, I just need to write them.

Without further ado, here they are:

Kelvian (by Rahvi) I had a LOT of fun playing this one, and my group grew very attached to it. He is a priest of healing, kind, charitable, a true saint, but he has a slight problem... alcohol.

Zanfah Windsong (by Rahvi) Powerful, mysterious... wait, that's not it, her strategy for facing a dragon is more like screaming and shaking (or hiding). Zanfah is more like a fun and excitement loving female bard, armed with a joke or a story for every ocassion. She may seem like the type of NPC the PCs don't want around, but I'm surprised to see how fond my players are of her.

Akeem El bashar (by Rahvi) Another of my DMPCs, an intolerant, quiet and sometimes bothersome priest of war with a mission. He is perfect for those parties that don't have a cleric, because they knew you'd give them a hand, but you don't want to go easy on them.

Gaunar (by Rahvi) A rough, tough, merry going adventurer with an incredible capacity to anger the more civilized and refined characters, just ask a certain player's swashbuckler.

Falgares (by Rahvi) A necromancer with a life full of suffering, struggling with his inner demons. Once a murderer, and now hunted by the authorities and his old comrades, Falgares is on a quest to redeem himself of all the blood he has spilled.

Julius Bankhor (by Rahvi) One of the best constables of the kingdom, the party may meet this overzealous law enforcer when hunting down a criminal or facing a thieves' guild. Or perhaps, the PCs may find themselves in the wrong side of the law, and hunted by him.

Numish (by Omem) How's this for an NPC?, a wizard from another dimension with little grasp on reality, who thinks that he's trapped in a fairy tale, in which the PCs are the heroes...

Allistra, the Dark Elf (by Rahvi) A female drow deathweaver who has turned away from the brutal ways of her race and now travels the land striving to change what she once was.

Benerin (by Derek T.) Here's an NPC I got a while back on my e-mail, it is a useful wizard you might just want to include in your adventuring party.
