A Desdrek, the Goddess of Beauty, Love and Fertility
Desdrek, the beautiful lady of love and romance, has always captured the imagination and hearts of all bards, poets, and writers since ascan times. She was "born" from the very essence of life, from Ascan himself, to give life a better purpose, to give the gift of beauty and love to all living things.
Desdrek has never been known to come to the mortal world, but she still has innumerable followers all over the world; the lady of love is the theme of an enormous amount of paintings, sculptures, songs, poems, etc. It is a well-known fact that the capital city of the ascan empire was named after her, as is the capital of Thyrana. Many youngsters often invoke the lady of beauty to gain the attention of his/her beloved.
Actually, Desdrek is one of the best known and praised deities of the ascan pantheon. It acts as the tie that binds lovers together, the unnatural beauty that captivates poets and minstrels and inspires them, and as the lady that brings the joy of birth to families, how could one not adore such a deity?
Her priestesses (only females) are not common, and can only be found in the more civilised lands of Raokrá like Latis, Vrith, most elven lands and Thyrana. There are two branches in Desdrek's cult, one that pays homage to beauty and one that praises love and romance.
The Priestesses of Beauty (the Dreskdars)
The Dreskdars are all beautiful young ladies who have chosen to live secluded lives inside their monasteries until the day of their marriage. They are guarded jealously by the Fargath, monastic men who have sworn themselves to chastity.
The live of these priestesses may seem a bit vain (actually, it is). They live in their monastery doing nothing else than learning magic, studying and taking care of their sacred beauty; leaving the monastery only twice a year to celebrate the coming of spring (a huge celebration they organise, since it is believed that Desdrek blows upon the trees and flowers during spring) and the annual holy marriage. This Holy marriage is their greatest celebration, when a Dreskdar marries a man of her choice.
These marriages are a long and elaborate process, you see, anyone who wishes to court a dreskdar is allowed into the monastery the seventh day of each week. The candidates usually bring the priestess flowers, poems, gifts and such, this must continue for at least three years, after which the priestess will choose one candidate. The priestess is then to marry this candidate and bring him happiness and bear him children.
These priestesses are held as sacred within their respective cultures, and doing anything unseemly to them is punished harshly.
The Dreskdars use a four sided dice as their hit die.

Priestesses of Love
Unlike their more vain and superficial colleagues (the Dreskdars), the priestesses of love do not have a secluded life in no monastery nor house. They are free spirits, fond of roaming all over the land searching for lovers to unite, marry or reconcile, babies to deliver into the world or anyone who might need their services.
Their duties are many; they are to help deliver babies into the world, marry couples, help those who suffer because of love, reconcile and/or unite lovers, and many others related to pregnancy, marriage and love. Marrying and bearing children is not required from them, but still most of them do (remember, Desdrek is also the goddess of fertility)
The best way to recognise a priestess of love is their attitude towards life. They are cheery and optimistic, if anything is going wrong, it will surely get better in a while, after all, no evil can last forever (at least in their opinion). Another way to recognise a priestess of love is the way they cast their spells that require verbal components; they intone a beautiful song in a sweet voice.
These priestesses are in very good relations with the priests of healing (devout to Ascan).
