Darus Temple

Darus Temple was built by the Kar-Tet at the request of Orthos. Once finished, Orthos presented the clan with the Darus Egg, on the condition they would guard it and keep it safe from enemies of Orthos. The egg will hatch after a thousand years and the son of Orthos will be born to the world, ready to lead the Kar-Tet and other clans. The Darus Egg has two rings around it, composed of five rubies on the bottom ring and four rubies on the top ring. Every one hundred years the egg gained a ruby, a sort of countdown until the birth of Darus. When ten rubies are present on the egg, Darus will then come. The Darus Temple lies in the middle of Brookeshire, and is a popular attraction for many travellers through the area. Within the temple is a great library used by all the clans, a college for the priests of Orthos, and rooms for both priests and the guardians of the egg. The guardians of the egg constantly watch over the egg, ensuring no one steals it. They are trained not only with swords, bows, and daggers, but also with minor magical powers as well. This makes the guardians a very formidable foe. The Darus Egg was recently stolen from the Darus Temple, the theives only escaping with the egg because they were skilled thieves and wizards.
