Not a single NGC object appears on this chart, which is surprising, since it lies between the False Cross and Canopus.
The only IC object here is IC 2195, discovered by Deslile Stewart. He noted that it was only "suspected", and has since been shown to be nonexistent.
Just over a hundred ESO galaxies are also in this area, the brightest of which is 13.6 magnitude ESO162-G017.
