1999 has been a wonderful year for me and I hope your year has been the same for you. My life is absolutely blessed. I have a lovely cottage in which to live. I live in northern California in a fantastic redwood forest with a river running behind the property. I have been working on the yard this summer and the results have been nothing short of fantastic! The plants were informed when purchased that I woud plant, water, weed, and feed them - then they were on their own to make it through the winter. They are doing amazingly well even though the temperature has dropped to the low 30's!

This has also been a year of spiritual growth and traveling new paths with God. 1999 has been a year of learning, as with all other years. 1999 has simply been a year of personal growth in many unexpected and wonderful ways. Personal and spiritual growth/changes has allowed me to appreciate so many things we take for granted: health, happiness, friends, relationships, family.

We have so many darling little squirrels on the property and have provided feeders for them. Since redwood trees tend to become the only trees, if we want the squirrels to stay we must provide something for them to eat. It's more than a fair trade because they are such wonderful entertainment! Most of them are hibranating in December, but there will be even more of them in the spring!

There are also several feral cats living under the house next door. It makes me so sad even though they appear to be well fed so far. The problem is that they need homes and I can't catch them. Therefore, I put food out on the concrete for them when I am home. If you have a precious feline with you, please be sure they are spayed or neutered. It is, after all, the kindest thing to do in the long run.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house . . . Don't we all remember those days? Santa was making a list and checking it twice and we had to be so extra good - at least for a while. I now have four grandchildren and Christmas time is so much fun. I had to get on the internet to locate a present my granddaughter, Marissa, requested. She made up her list and I found it! She wanted "Patty's Playground." It's fun shopping for a little girl. LOL! The two older boys, Kevin and Herbert, are teenagers and all they want is $money$ so, it's a done deal. :)
