Becky's Pet Page

Well, those of you who know me know about my love for animals, so it was only natural to add a Pet Page to my website. Apart from showcasing my pets, I will add in links to the animal welfare places where I have worked and other animal sites I think may be of interest to you. If you have a great animal site that's not listed in the links below then just drop me an email and I will add your link. I am also constructing a Pet Photo Album for those who would like to see photos of my furred friends being the cute, adorable creatures that they are, but for the time being I will just add a couple of photos to this site.

So, at the moment my extended family consists of;

bichon.gif (145 bytes)Caesar - Born 27/01/2001. He's ginger and white and really adorable. Although, waking up to my nose being chewed on isn't the best thing in the morning. Apart from that he is very well behaved (when he's not trying to climb the curtains that is) and he likes cuddling up to me during the night. Matt and I hadn't planned on getting a kitten but we went to the Pet Expo in Auckland and decided to have a browse in the pet shop on the way home. It was love at first sight and after weighing up the pros and cons we decided to get him. I'm so glad we did! Caesar has his own webpage! Click here to check it out!

Jessie - Born 10/05/96. Possibly the most spoilt dog in the world. Jessie is a 5 year old Bichon Frise. If you don't know what a Bichon is my best description is that she is like a big piece of white fluff with 2 black eyes, a tongue that never stops licking and a tail that wags itself to death. There's an illustration at the bottom of the page and a photo if you are still confused. Yes, as I mentioned she is very spoilt, especially by Dad. I won't go into detail of how spoilt she is otherwise you'll think my family's crazy, which they are, but yeah. Jessie is also incredibly jealous of the cat, but that's just because she's been so spoilt and the cat's becoming more affectionate in her old age.

bichon.gif (145 bytes) Tammy - She is a 14 yr old Blue Cream Torti DSH Cat. Mum and Dad have never been fond of her but they are weakening in her old age. Mum said that Tammy was the ugliest kitten in the litter but I wanted her so we got her. She hasn't been the best cat in the world and she has some rather disgusting behavioural/hormone problems, but I still love her. Unfortunately Tammy is getting on in life and she's been sick on and off for a year with various problems. Hopefully she can hold off until I get home.

Scratch - Scratch is a large female Himalayan (I think) rabbit. When I "saved" her from the pet shop I was told she was a " 2 year old Male Rabbit: Very Friendly." Well, I know for a fact that she is female as she is missing the required male genitalia, and she's definitely a rabbit. As for the "very friendly" part, well... the name says it all really and I have the scars to prove it. I also don't really know how old she is which makes it hard. She keeps having false pregnancies which is sad. If I knew how old she was I would probably give her a litter but she would be too old now, so she'll just have to keep dreaming.

My Birds - At the moment I have one weiro, one quail , and 3 zebra finches at home in Australia. I used to breed finches ; including Blackhearts, Zebras and Gouldians but had to give it up after we moved to a rental property as I lost my aviaries when we sold our house last year. Dad's currently building one back home in Oz but I'm not there to do anything with it. When I have settled down in Ozzie again I will build another aviary and start breeding birds again, but that probably won't be for a few more years.

Fish - Well, I have 3 fish. My 3 fish are Comet, Asteroid and Eclipse. They are also at home in Australia.

Deceased pets include;

bichon.gif (145 bytes)Xander - (April 2000- January 2001) Female Dwarf x rabbit.

Smokey - (1992-1997) Male Smokey Pearl Netherland Dwarf Rabbit.

Thumper - (1992-1996) Male Himilayan Netherland Dwarf Rabbit.

Rusty - Male Basenji X.
