Halhul Mountain is the highest one in Palestine after "Jabal Al Sheikh" Mountain on the Syrian boundaries. Halhul is an artistic panel in the spring and summer seasons. It is a touristic village, which receives the tourists who like to walk around the mountains and to enjoy seeing the archaeological places throughout the village.

Strategical site

The main leverage of the town stems from the fact that the main road between Hebron and Jerusalem divides it into two main parts, which contain stores of all sorts.

The Area

The area of the town is about 37000 square kms. of which 25000 are able and 20000 are fallow and 9000 are within the planned boarder.

 
Statistics
According to the town plan of 1978, the area of Halhul is 9000 square kms. However, this area was reduced by authority to 3000 squared kms. It is known that no houses were demolished in Halhul as the municipality licenses all houses. There are about 2000 houses in Halhul. Since 1987,and due to the bad economic situation and the Gulf War, the number of issued licenses per month decreases.

It is easy to recognize the agricultural nature of Halhul by looking at the large numbers of grape yards, fruit orchards and vegetable farms.
 
Halhul Boundaries
Halhul is surrounded by villages, the population of which exceed 50 000 people. These villages include Beit-Ummar, Al-arroub, Al-Shuyoukh, Sa 'er, Nouda, Kharas, Beit-Ula, etc. All these villages benefit from the services offered by Halhoul Municipality. For example, 20% of the students in preparatory and secondary schools come from surrounding villages. In addition, trade from these villages is done through Halhoul.
