In the commotion that ensued from the agents actions, Docker managed to grab a hold of a young woman, wearing a pink sorority jacket. He put his gun to her right temple. All of the student, save one young man, was running away in panic. The young man was in too much shock, from seeing his girlfriend's life being threatened, to run. He froze and stared dumbfoundedly at Docker.
"Everyone stay where you are," Docker shouted. "Anyone moves, and her brains will be all over the hall." The agents followed the student's example and remained where they were.
Carol picked up the briefcase and walked over to Docker. Leo tried to hide the detonator, but Docker noticed it. "Give it here, Mr. Jones," he said. Leo had to comply. As Docker pushed the button on the detonator, both Leo and Zenya closed their eyes, but nothing happened. Martin had managed to get Emily out of range. Docker threw down the detonator in anger and crushed it under his boot.
"We're walking out of here," Docker said, "and there is nothing you can do about it." He looked at Zenya and Leo. "But then again, that's a situation you two are all too familiar with." His words hit Zenya like an arrow. Like in a silent movie, she saw her parent's car explode over and over again. In that brief instant, she felt sick to her stomach. Then her adrenaline kicked in and she saw red. With one swift motion, she aimed her gun at Docker's head and cocked it.
"Zenya, don't!" Leo and Jordan cried out in unison. Leo looked at her. "It's not worth it, it really isn't."
Tears rolled down Zenya's cheeks, as she lowered her gun. She just stood there, shaking.
Docker and Carol started moving backwards. When they were close to the exit, Docker threw down the girl and they both turned and ran. Leo reacted instantly. He pulled his gun, took aim for a fraction of a second and fired. The bullit hit Docker in the back and he slumped forward.
A moment later, two men in black suits appeared. One of them pulled Docker to safety, while the other opened fire with a machine gun.
"Get down!" Leo shouted, as he pulled the young frat boy to the floor. Zenya and Jordan both dove for cover.
A few seconds later, it was all over. Docker was gone and so was the device. Leo recognized the sound of a military EVAC chopper dusting off. They stood up and brushed off. Zenya's face was streaked with dust and tears, making her look like a racoon. Under different circumstances, they would have laughed, but now was not the time for laughter. Jordan supported Zenya, as they walked away from 'The Hall of Tortured Souls'.
--------
Martin and Emily was waiting for them in the parking lot. Emily turned out to be a slender woman in her late twenties. She had brown hair, with reddish highlight. Zenya couldn't decide whether they were natural or not. If anyone had to describe her later on, they would probably have use the word cute, rather than beautiful, but Jordan could definitely see why Martin was so attracted to her.
"We didn't wanna touch that thing, before you got back," he said, pointing at the explosive device attached to Emily's ankle. The red light blinked every five seconds. Leo pulled out a set of miniature screwdrivers from his jacket, picked out the smallest one and opened the device. It contained three colored wires and enough plastic explosives to severely cripple Emily. After careful consideration, Leo used the pair of scissors on his Swiss Army knife, to cut the yellow wire. The red light stopped blinking. Martin exhaled, realizing he had held his breath for more than a minute. Leo removed the bracelet.
-------
They had all remained silent during the ride back to the cabin, their minds pre-occupied with more important stuff than talking. The lights were on in the cabin, but they could see no trace of Tom.
"Tom?" Jordan called out.
"He's over here," Zenya called back. She had just found him, unconcious in the kitchen.
A few splashes of water later, he woke up. Martin picked up the watch, laying next to him.
"What happened?" Jordan asked.
Tom was rubbing his temples. "I'm not sure," he said. "I heard a strange humming outside. When I went out to investigate, I saw an incredibly strong white light. I don't remember anything after that, until you woke me up."
"Jordan, can I talk to you in the sitting room?" Martin asked.
When they were out of hearing distance from the rest, Martin showed Jordan Tom's watch.
"What do you make of this?" He held his own watch next to Tom's. Martin's was 9:37, while Tom's said 9:28. "Tom is missing 9 minutes."
"I don't know what to think," Jordan replied. "But I don't think we should show Tom this. Losing the device will be enough to handle for one day."
"I agree." Martin turned Tom's watch forward and they returned to the kitchen.

(Day 2, 11:45pm, The front porch of the cabin)
"I'm so glad you're alright," Martin said. He was hugging Emily hard. Suddenly he was interupted by his cellphone.
"Don't answer that," Emily almost whispered.
"I have to. It must be important, for anyone to call at this hour."
At first Martin didn't recognize the voice in the other end, but then he realized it was Randall Quinn.
"Good Morning, Martin. Congratulations on getting Emily out from her kidnappers."
"But, how did you know that?" Martin asked, very puzzled. Emily had only been free for a couple of hours, and no one else was supposed to know about it.
"Good news travels fast. Can I talk to her, please?"
Martin handed the phone to Emily. "It's your boss - he wants to talk to you."
"Emily speaking."
"I'm really happy you're safe. It must have been awful."
"Yes, it was. You have no idea..."
"Listen, I've got good news. The Swedish peace broker, Mr. Bildt, managed to compose an agreement, both parties could accept. You don't have to go back to Israel."
"I wouldn't have anyway," Emily replied. "I'm never going back to the Middle-East again. Remember three weeks ago, when I told you I had applied for a transfer to the FBI?"
"I do. What about it?"
"Martin told me it was accepted yesterday. I'm to report to Director Peters as soon as possible."
"Oh." Randall sounded genuinely sorry. "I'm sorry to see you go, but at the same time, I'm happy for you. I hope you'll stay in touch."
"I will. Good luck in Israel! Bye."
Martin almost started jumping up and down, when he heard the good news. He would have hated seeing her go back to Israel, if only for a few days.
"This means you can go back home with us, in the morning," he said and kissed Emily. [Zoom out and fade to black...]

[NRPG]
All: Tom being abducted by aliens - too off the wall? Perhaps there's a
different explanation to the light and the nine minutes missing?
Jeff: I'm pretty sure Leo hit Docker in the shoulder, missing any vital organs, but you might have a different opinion.
