[NRPG : Well, here's a short and sweet ditty on what happened on the way out of the tunnel.
Sau Woon : As tempted as I was to try and elaborate on Vanessa's condition, I too decided to hold back and let you handle that one. :)
Syd : Sign me up for the 100 words or less club.... ;) Tho... I think the NRPG should put me over the top! ;) ]
[Near the tunnel's entrance]
The team was met by the EMT's just as they were nearing the entrance of the tunnel. Jordan lay Vanessa on the gurney as gently as he could and saw that she was still bleeding, yet there were no physical evidence of wounds.
"I'm going with her to the hospital." Jim told the other two agents, worry crossed his face.
Jordan nodded. "Go ahead, we'll meet you there."
Jim nodded as he entered the rear of the ambulance. Meanwhile, Leo looked around with a bemused look on his face.
"What's up, Leo?" Jordan asked the smiling agent.
"Ummm... I'm not sure how to say this but, how are we getting there?" Leo asked pointing to the spot where their cars were supposed to be. "It seems as though we're carless."
Jordan then noticed what Leo meant and laughed. "Well, this is New York City, there should be a cab about."
As they walked to the curb, they suddenly saw a large semi roll up in front of the Subway entrance. Out of the back, several men in contamination suits and flamethrowers exited and went into the tunnels. A moment later, Jordan was successful in hailing a cab and they both got in on their way to the hospital.
