On the forward hull, an auxiliary deflector dish supplements the main dish, and a large bank of sensor instruments provides data on phenomena along Bethel's flight path. Flanking the auxiliary deflector and positioned in other locations around the ship are the transporter emitters, the large flat antennae responsible for sending and receiving the transporters' focussed matter-streams. There are also the reaction control thrusters at several points around the hull. There are also escape pod hatches at numerous points.

Groupings of half-round tubes which generally follow the defensive shield grid are part of the structural integrity field (SIF), which comprise the energy devices that keep the ship rigid during high impulse and warp flight as well as during attacks by hostile forces.

Bethel's phasers are contained in large strategically placed multi-emitter strips.

The picture (right) shows Bethel firing phasers using the starboard phaser array, with another volley starting up from the port emitters.
