"I could but most of the times I chose not to use that ability." said Kalaya.
Nick was silent. "Who's this guy you're after?" Nick then asked.
"His name is Nicola." said Kalaya. "I have dreams he was on the wrong path that could lead to death."
"But he's a vampire, isn't he?" said Nick.
"Even vampires die." said Kalaya. "I'm here to prevent his from happening."
They arrived at the building and Kalaya noticed Nicola' car is out in the front. She gulped nervously.
"You nervous?" asked Nick.
"Yes. I haven't seen him in a long time." said Kalaya. She sighed. "I don't really want to face him, but I must."
There was a knock on the driver's side so she looked out and nearly jumped.
"Who is it?" asked Nick.
"It's Nicola." said Kalaya.
"What are you waiting for? Let's go." said Nick.
"Hmm." said Kalaya.
"Who do I call you now?" asked Nicola. "You've came by so many names, I've lost count."
"I'm Kalaya Moriarty now." replied Kalaya. "What about you?"
"I'm Nick Knight." replied Nick K.
"We have the same name except my last name's Boyle." said Nick B.
Nick K. chuckled but then looked at Kalaya sideways.
Kalaya sighed. She knows when Nick B.'s out doing something, there will be a long discussion between her and Nick K.
"Sure, no problem." Kalaya said.
"Kalaya, what's your purpose for being here?" Nick K. suddenly asked the moment Nick B. stepped out.
Kalaya was taken aback. "What do you mean?" asked Kalaya.
"For all those years I've known you, you never bothered with me." said Nick K. bitterly.
"Nick, that's not true!" said Kalaya.
Nick K. looked at Kalaya with sad look in his eyes.
"Don't look at me like that, Nick." replied Kalaya.
"You.. left me at the time I needed you the most." said Nick K.
"When?" asked Kalaya.
"Don't tell me you don't know when." said Nick K.
Kalaya sighed. She remembered leaving Nick K. the day he turned immortal.
"You were on your own. But right now, you're in danger." said Kalaya.
"What kind of danger?" asked Nick K.
"Have anyone pressured you to turn her or him into immortal lately?" asked Kalaya.
"Yes." said Nick K.
"Who?" asked Kalaya.
"Natalie." said Nick K.
"You must resist it." replied Kalaya. "Or you're as good as dead."
Kalaya sighed. "Here's my cell phone numbers." said Kalaya. "Call me if there's an emergency."
"But Nick's not here." said Nick K.
"That's OK, I'll wait outside." said Kalaya.
When Kalaya left, Nick looked at the piece of paper and put it where he knows he would find in case of emergency.
When Nick B. arrived, Kalaya was already waiting outside.
"I take it it was a disaster." said Nick B.
"You could tell me that." said Kalaya. "Natalie sounds like a close friend of his and I doubt he is willing to believe he would be put to danger."
"Have you given him your cell phone numbers?" asked Nick B.
"Yes I have." said Kalaya. "I just pray he would call in case emergency arose."
"So where to now?" asked Nick B.
"Back home." was Kalaya's reply.
