Winter is here, although it sure doesn't seem like it. Where's the snow!? Well there's snow in some places and there's a lot of sports to try in the snow. There's a sport for every season, and you can learn about them here! I've got info on sports, resorts, sports parks, beginner info and more. Check it ->

______________SNOWBOARDING!

What do beginners need to know?
If you are a beginner, don't try and rush into the sport. Try it out first. It would be best to rent equipment until you are good at it. Beginners should use freestyle boards. A freestyle board is called a twin tip. Both ends of the board are turned up. Soft freestyle boards are usually selected when suggesting boards for beginners. Signing up for lessons would also be a good idea.

How much does it cost?
If you are renting, the prices vary. If you get a beginner "package" it can cost from $40-$70. In most beginner packages, you get a board, boots, a lesson, and bindings. Any other equipment, you need to buy on your own. Snowboarding jackets, pants, and underwear (average quality) can cost you around $350, depending where you buy. High quality brands can cost you up to $500 or more, but I doubt any of you beginners would spend that much for first times. Once you get serious about it, boards can cost anywhere from $200 to maybe even $700. Resorts can have you pay $1000 dollars for season passes. Most are about $30-$40 dollars a day.

Where can I go to snowboard?
Well you could always go down that big hill in the city park, or go to a resort. Want to find a resort near you? Check some of THESE out.
