Black Widow Hair-do

Back when I was in school, the 'Rat's-Nest' hair-do was in fashion.  The way this is created is to hold a piece of hair up in the air, then back-tease it until it looks somewhat tangled, creating a lift.  Then you comb the top hair down over it.

Some girls went overboard with this 'do.  They got it to amazing heights, then lacquered it until it was as hard as a helmet and left it that way for days at a time.

One day, our teacher called the girls together for a little chat.  We all sat in the front desks while she stood up in front of us.

"Girls, I have to tell you something that happened down at the high school,"  she began.  She looked so sad, we knew something was wrong.

"You are all familiar with that 'Rat's-Nest' hair-do?  Well, there was a girl up there who always wore her hair like this.  She had it sprayed until it couldn't move, then she left it like that.  Didn't comb it out, didn't wash it for days.

"She stopped in to the girl's room during break to fluff her hair out.  The minute she put her brush to her hair, she fell down on the floor in convulsions.  No one knew what the matter was, and they called the ambulance to come and get her.  They took her to the hospital, where she died.

"It turns out that, one night while she was sleeping, a Black Widow spider climbed into her hair and made a nest there.  She didn't know it.  When she went to fluff it out, the spider bit her."

Moral of the story is, pay attention to hygiene.
