880 AND CUSTOM 880 A DeLuxe installation: a combination heating, defrosting and fresh-air ventilation
system controlled by five vacuum-powered push buttons and a sliding temperature
control lever. Even the fresh-air-ventilating portion of the system is
push-button-controlled. This push-button system is highly automatic. Blower speeds and servo-actuated
dampers within the system are automatically adjusted to give the desired condition
without further attention. |

STANDARD-SIZE DODGE A peak-efficiency, combination fresh-air
heating-ventilating-defrosting system using the axial-flow
blower (shown at right). This is a miniature compressor
like those used in jet engines to deliver a large volume of
air. Controls are four push buttons, a temperature control
lever and a blower switch. |
||
This system delivers up to 225 cubic feet of air per minute, for heating or for fresh-air ventilation, even when the car is parked or is inching along in slow-moving traffic. |

DART A new-for-1963 heating, defrosting and fresh-air ventilating system that provides a
new high-comfort level. It controls car temperature by mixing air. Outside air is
routed partly through the heater, partly to the car interior direct - and meantime the
system varies this mix to maintain the desired car temperature. Three push-pull
knobs control its operation. Doors underneath the instrument panel open up for
summer ventilation. This system can be used to provide heat or fresh air with the blower motor off, if
the car is moving. In summer driving, the system supplies 40% more fresh air than
last yearup to 350 cubic feet per minute at 30 m.p.h. In winter, heat output is
greater and control more precise, than was the case with last year's system. |
