Painting the car

I was very lucky to track down someone ( a friends cousin ) who only paints show quality cars and is not interested in anything that's not American or has more than two doors. He was back in New Zealand on holiday from his water skiing school in Georgia USA.

The big day was here (it was "D" day). The booth was wet down and the car went in to get some real paint on it, I was kicked out just after this photo was taken

Only three thin coats of colour were put on then it was left for a day ot two (I can't remember) and a couple of clear coats went on then it was out into the sun for it's first viewing

I took it home and didn't touch the paint for about three months while I assembled the interior. I then carefully hand cut and polished behind where the chrome and badges were to go and gingerly arranged them on the body.
