    Air Canada was established in 1939 as Trans Canada Airlines.  TCA's first route was Vancouver Seattle using a L10A.  They were owned by the government.  They got the DC-8 as their first jet aircraft.  Air Canada received their first 747-100 in 1971.  In the 1980's they replaced their L1011's with the 767-200's.  In the early 1990's they brought back three L1011's for a short time and received 6 767-300ER's, and 3 747-400's.  In 1995, Air Canada became the first North American airline to Operate the A340-300.  Now in 1999 they have 8 A340's, 2 arriving in June (June 1, and June28), they have 6 A330-300IGW's starting to arrive in October '99.  Their fleet consists of 8 A340, 35 A319, 34 A320, 6 B767-300, 22 767-200, 15 DC-9's, 24 CL-65.
