Canadian Airlines was formed when Pacific Western and Canadian Pacific merged.  CP was taken over be PW after PW stopped being a regional airline of Air Canada.  CAI (Canadian Airlines) was okay until they decided they wanted more European Routes (without a fight, in my opinion), so they bought up Wardair, which was the biggest mistake they ever made because if they just waited six months Wardair would of gone bankrupt and Canadian could of fought for their routes like Air Canada did to get Asian Routes.  They might of been fine, even buying Wardair, but right after they bought Wardair, and took all their debt, their was a big recession
