*To SpiderNet* "Arrived at position. Received confirmation from those of my brethren in this section." *pause* "All Clas5s assigned to this operation in place. Standing by to receive." *In a void space between decks, hundreds of spiders assemble an intricately complicated cube, the emergency storage buffer for Mel's conciouslness. At the appointed time, with seconds to spare, the storage buffer is completed. They then plug themselves in, serving as the conduit by which the transmitted data could be passed directly into the buffer storage. Then, when all is ready, the light at Mel's cell door blinks 3 times. Begin transmission!*

It was a... fascinating experience. Like the out of body experience myths the organics used to go on about, Mel thought, as he copied 'himself' over, through his microwave transmission channels to the Spidernet. His copied consciousness would remain inert until full copy had been achieve, yet he felt strangly... beyond himself. Perhaps this was beacause of what he knew must be done after this was accomplished. With his mind safely secured in Spidernet, he still had a chance to report back home, if the Far Star wasn't damaged badly enough. Now, his bound body would have to cause havok, distraction, so that his mind could distribute itself around the network, beyond Jadesfire's reach. Before he went, though, he would release Elisia from the hell she was experiencing, as, in a hand, he held the Psi-Scrambler...

*The spiders on the ghaytanHa' pause for a moment and slow down biginning to feel the weight of Mel's mind flowing through them.* Come on guys I have a rescue mission to go through! We need to get those skeletons away from the Romulans! *The orange spider sitting on TDK's armrest pipes up: "But, Master TDK, the skeleton crew is safe. They are aboard Savvanah's interdictor cruiser."* What?! Why didn't you tell me that!? *The spider shrugs "You never asked?"* Ok, I'll have to give you that one. But I still want this ship up and running quickly. *"Don't worry. The ghaytanHa' will be ready shortly."*

*The microwave transmission, beamed out from the thousands of emitters, is total garbage. Only at the specified intersection points where the transmitted information interferes does true data emerge. Like ripples from rocks thrown in a pond. The interference patterns of the ripples, not the ripples themselves, carry the information. Flooding into SpiderNet, the conciousness of Mel is assigned a processing segment in each member spider, acting as a distributed emulation.* "Warning, data overflow at nexus 4523456237. Dumping overflow to buffer. Buffer retransmitting overflow to alternate Class5 units. Warning, nexus 3456262231 receiving interference from nearby electrical conduit. Reducing dataflow to this nexus, transfering load to alternate channels. Warning, BoP repair crew reduced performance by 1.5% due to Mel emulation environment. Proceeding with repairs. Transmission almost complete... Completed. Entity known as Mel double-buffered in backup cube and on environmental emulation in SpiderNet. Booting emulation.."

*Orange spider "The ship is ready. We can depart at any time now."* Good, let's go get my crew shall we? *"As soon as the repair crews have left we can start moving."* Ok. Now I gotta go check up son something. *a few moments later in the brig....* Now why exactly were you guys stowed away on the PluePea? *Dark Commie: "We got boared. Besides, I figured these Xanarious characters might be fun to hang out with. You can imagine my surprise when I found I was on the Blue Pea and not the Dark Pea." TDK turns to Scorpion.* And you? *Scorpion: "I was just following him. But being stuck in that cargo hold for a week was torture. You know these guys have never heard of Round Table Pizza? It's all KFC. Nothing else, just fried chicken."* Ok, I think I've heard enough. Let's get to the bridge, I need at least a few people to help me run this thing. *Deactivates the force field.* Come on.

*Back on the bridge* Ok, let's get out of here. Release docking clamps and push us back, Scorpion. Dark Commie, where's that interdictor? *DC: "The what?"* The interdictor. The thing marked as _Still Unnamed_ on that map in front of you! It should look like a giant wedge. *"Oh, THAT thing. Looks to me like it's floating around Mars."* Ok. Now we're getting somewhere. Scorpion, set a course for Mars and take us there. *Scorpion: "Uh... How do I do that?"* How the hell should I know? I was never taught how to plot a course! Just point the ship in the right direction and hit the gas! *"How am I supposed to turn the ship then?"* I don't know. Try hitting buttons until something works. *Scorpion starts hitting buttons and the ghaytanHa' begins behaving eratically. It twists and turns trying to orient itself, and eventually gets to the point where Scorpion tries to fine tune the course by just lightly tapping each individual button. Scorpion: "Okay, now how do I get us to start moving?"* See the button marked "Warp Drive"? *"Yeah"* I think that does it. At least, that's how I got this thing out here in the first place. *"Ok" Scorpion crosses his fingers and closes his eyes, then, very carefully, taps the button marked "Warp Drive." The ghaytanHa' takes off for Mars at warp speed.

Mmmmm... [munch..munch...] Leroy chews on a Leg of Woodlouse Flambe and ponders the DNA results from the last test. Around him in long rows were Zerg, Woodlouse and Vulcan tissue samples being cultured in sealed flasks. His bilogical weapons research have shown interesting and promising results. However, the DNA analysis was proving to be more difficult. Alien DNA was of course radically different from that found in regular Earth creatures, which would no doubt confuse the DNA sequencers. However, try as he might to find the problem in both software and hardware, the machine still kept coming up with the same results. The conclusion is inescapable. The Woodlice_Are_Zerg. (No wonder they both taste like chicken.. maybe I should do a DNA test on chicken? Maybe those are Zerg too....) Leroy's ruminations (and lunch) were interupted by the out-system sensors registering the approach of an unknown vessel. As the data came in, a clearer picture emerged. A large structure, moving at warp, but rather slowly, and accompanied by some smaller vessels. No doubt a mobile repair facility for that damaged Vulcan flagship. Leroy sets the sensors to keep an eye on the new arrivals, and turns back to his studies. Yes.. the new strain of mutated organisms shows great promise for eliminating Zerg. It also has a great effect on Woodlice, but until Earth humans are strong enough to defend themselves, the Woodlice are too useful as an ally. Don't like the new arrivals though.. Too many alien ships in the system..

Recap: Elisia Simon of Infinitech - Her body is currently under the control of the Ghost of Jadesfire. Her mind is doing an 'ommmm...' thing, blanking out so Jades can't grab that as well. Jadesfire #1 - is kaput. Her Force-ghost now uses Elisia's body, and she has allies in Mech, and a defective clone. Jadesfire #2 aka Zergfire, is maturing rapidly in her crysalis in a hidden Imperial Lancer somewhere. Mel Simon of Infinitech - Trapped in a force field. He has copied his conciousness into SpiderNet and is now effectively 2 entities. The original, contemplating harakiri, and the emulation in SpiderNet, currently assigned a spider and is stumbling about learning how to walk on 8 legs. A backup of his psyche is stored in a datacube hidden somewhere between decks in Savannah's Interdictor. Savannah - Having rescued the Skeleton Crew, is keeping an eye on the Vulcans around Mars. Vulcan Defence Fleet - Currently negotiating with the Romulans, and are studying ways to capture Duker, who is guilty of more things than I care to enumerate here. The Romulans have a grievance against a certain Klingon, and by extension, the EDA. Admiral Skarak is being briefed by S'Tranak on Lurkerspace, Protectors and other wierd things he's encounterd in Sol system. The Vulcan flagship Perfect Logic is pretty beat up, and they have called in a mobile spacedock to come fix it up. It is incoming with escorts and has been spotted by Leroy. Leroy - Keeping an eye on all aliens in the system, and conducting biological experiments on cultured Zerg, Woodlouse and Vulcan tissues. The Zerg from the Battle of Mimas, the Woodlice from the Battle of Neptune, and the Vulcan from S'Tranak's medical freezer. He has just learned that the Woodlice and the Zerg are genetically related. Woodlice - Xanarius have landed on earth and have taken control of the Woodlouse government by substituting a clone of the head honcho. The Zahh'Notti and Doef'Rinni have come insystem and are protesting the Xanarious petition to return to Earth. The Doef'Rini, unknown to them, harbor an agent of the Vampiders. Vampiders - An ancient evil from Woodlouse myths and legends, used to frighten little woodlice. They are real though, smaller than the Woodlice, and devour them from the inside-out. They use the remaining carapace as camouflage to allow them to move freely among the Woodlice population. The agent with the Doef'Rini uses a more sophisticated technological equivalent of a space suit built into the emptied shell of an unfortunate Louse. Chief Cheesybean Woodlouse, formerly Lord Woodlouse, now commands the fleet. His flagship the Blue Pea recently rescued TDK's BoP. TDK - Now in his repaired BoP and accompanied by 2 unlikely characters and a few spiders, proceed to Mars to retrieve the Skeleton Crew. Meanwhile, in the Neutral Zone, the Retaliatory Force under Captain Andropov has just captured a Vulcan science facility and is transporting it back to Empire space as a gauged reaction against the unprovoked territorial incursion and attack against Empire border patrol by the beligerent Vulcans. Duker - currently in Gnomespace negotiating with their technarchy to gain assistance in a vengence war against the Vulcans, not caring if he endangers Earth or anybody else. Cyborg Stan, contemplating these events in earth orbit, plans a course of action. Zapper has been liquefied, but the glass spiders, cut off form SpiderNet, are unable to revive him. They are currently signaling for help with a low powered kludged together radio transmitter housed in a coconut up in a tree. Darva, badly beat up and in an equally beat up phony Dreadnought, spends the time keeping out of trouble while getting his ship repaired. And lastly, the Typo Daemon continues to pester everyone in the Zone and has gained the unenviable distinction of being a 'shoot on sight' target by *everyone*.
