About this page...

This is a web page all about my favourite type of sport, Motorsport!Ive grown up to love car rallying in Ireland and try to attend them whenever I can. Ill always remember going to my first rally in Clare. I loved seeing all those souped up cars lying around waiting for some lucky owner to give them the full of the pipe!! Ivealways loved cars and have become an ardant Team Toyota fan through the years. My brother and I are restoring his 1986 AE86 Corolla GT hence the theme of this page. We are are also purchasing a KP61 Starlet with a view to rallying it ourselves, more to come...

In the past two to three years a following has built up around the AE86 corolla GT, both here in Ireland and abroad. This has led to an increase in the number of web pages dedicated to the AE86 and its cousins. This is a following the car should have recieved when it first came out. In its day the AE86 GT had many features its rivals did not. Its main advantage was its multivalve, twin overhead cam engine, the now reknowned 4AGE. It delivered 124HP and had the ability to rev out to 8,000RPM's before limiting. It also posessed a variable intake system called the Toyota Variable Induction System (T-VIS). Toyota had this type of system mastered long before Honda brought out the V-TEC intake system, yet it is something they are not widely credited with? The engine performance suprised many people as the block was not overly large as were many earlier toyota engines. The reason for this was the time Toyota invested in enhancing their skills in metallurgy. People judged this engine by its appearance and said it was fragile and should shatter under strain! The powerful 1587cc engine boasts power outputs better than rival engines, especially when fully tuned; and the standard engine can haul the car to speeds of +130mph easily! Photos to come...
