Silverado Concours d' Elegance 2000

Coppola Winery, Napa Valley

The day before the Concours at Mare Island many of the Concours Classic Cars went on a sponsored drive through the beautiful Napa Valley. Our first stop was at the Coppola Winery. The grounds and winery were outstanding. It was fun to see the "Tucker" automobile from the movie of the same name. Many of the Oscars and other memorabelia from the "Godfather" movie were also there. By the way, the wine was good too!

Our Impala was in a huge class. We didn't let that bother us, not much, anyway. We went about our task of cleaning and polishing, preparing for the eyes of the Judges. Later in the day we were awarded with an envelope which told us we had won an award in our class. We were both surprised and thrilled.

We Were Awarded Third Place!
|
The other two cars were an Avanti and a Corvair. Both of these cars were beautiful, but so was ours! We were given Third in our class. We always feel honored to be awarded in any place at a Concours d' Elegance. I think it is the finest of the car events!
