Johansson Motorsports to move up?
Stefan Johansson's Lights team will probably move to the World Championship. Actor, Anthony Edwards, will be involved with the team.


Hogan Racing to fold.
Hogan Racing has ended its operation due to financial reasons. Carl Hogan still has Helio Castro Neves' contract, and the two will try to find a seat for 2000.


Gil de Ferran and Greg Moore to Penske in 2000!
Both de Ferran and Moore's contracts were up and Roger Penske signed the two verterans to multi year contracts. This leaves Unser searching for a new team and Forsythe Racing and Walker Racing searching for new drivers.


Cleveland remains on calander.
The Grand Prix of Cleveland has returned to the 2000 World Championship calender after objections by fans, local businesses, the mayor of Cleveland, and the US FAA over the proposed IRL oval on Burke Lakefront Airport. As a result, the mayor of Cleveland forced IMG back into negotiation with CART and a deal was struck.


World Championship calander to expand in 2001 and beyond?
Current possibilities:
Lausitzring(D)- Located south of Berlin, this oval is currently under construction.
Mexico City(MX)- This road course formerly used by Formula One has been modified extensively.
Mexico City(MX)- Oval, currently in the planning stages.
Road Atlanta(USA)- Don Panoz's road course was recently upgraded.
Denver Speedway(USA)- Roger Penske's newest oval project could see the Champ Cars return to the Denver area.
Las Vegas(USA)- Oval
Rockingham Motor Speedway(UK)- Oval, currently in the planning stages.
Monterrey(MX)- A road race is being proposed in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey.
*- Lausitzring and the Monterrey road course are current favorites.


Della Penna to field Argentinians?
Della Penna might expand to two cars for 2000 with either Norberto Fontana(1998 Formula Nippon champion) or Gabriel Furlan(1998 South America Formula 3 champion).


Return of Project Indy?
Shinichi Takagi, who drives for Revo Racing in All-Japan F3, has signed a testing contract with Project Indy. If things go according to plan, Project Indy will be back in 1999.
