Originating in 1909 in the United States, Championship Car racing is the world's most difficult automobile championship, pushing the drivers and the cars to their absolute limit on a diverse series of race tracks. Governed by the Championship Auto Racing Teams(CART), the World Championship visits 20 races in 4 continents and 5 countries. The formula cars in the championship use turbo charged V8 engines. Racing is conducted on road and oval race tracks. Click here for The Teams of CART and links to official team and driver web sites. All the drivers and teams of the 77th World Championship are listed, along with background information. What's automobile racing without the cars?
