EastCarpati Three days later we left Neptune for Brasov. We used the Motorway bridge to cross the Donau on which toll is asked. But the romanians had mercy on us and let us pass without paying. The relationship to the local authorities as gendarmerie and traffic police is a very friendly one. Mostly they just stood at the street and waved friendly when we passed by. Sometimes we had to pass a traffic control, nothing more to do than explaining technical details about the Motorbikes. That worked with any japanese bike I've been with in Romania. Once we rode along a small winding road in the mountains, crossed several times by a narrow railtrack with a stop sign at every crossing. The street was in a fine condition and so we did a little street racing, going down the road with a speed about 140 - 160 km/h ignoring the stop signs. In a bench just after a crossing a police checkpoint blocked the road. I rode on the leading position and I had serious problems to stop the bike right in front of the police to avoid an accident. The police just gave us a lesson about the stop signs and let us go!

In the evening we arrived in Brasov and went into town center. Right in opposite of the Mc Donald's is an unofficial market point for every service. Some people standing around offering rooms to rent. We stayed at a private home in a four bed room with bath and hot water and paid 18$ per night altogether. We parked our bikes in the yard and everything was clean and the people friendly. The address: Beke Alexandru Str. Cerbului Nr. 32 2200 Brasov - this is about 300m from center (black church)
