The Pokemon Card Game

The Pokemon Card Game

Most of you have probably heard of the Pokemon Trading Card Game,
made by Wizards of the Coast. There isn't a card for every Pokemon,
but there are lots of Pokemon, from Alakazam to Weedle. (To those of
you who think Weedle stinks in the game, it's pretty good in the card
game.) There are five decks: the starter set (fire and fighting
Pokemon), for beginners, the Zap! set (psychic (including Mewtwo)
and electric Pokemon) ,the Brushfire set (fire and grass Pokemon),
the Overgrowth set (water and grass Pokemon), and the Blackout set
(fighting and water Pokemon). There are also booster packs that add
extra Pokemon like Magmar. Besides Pokemon cards there are Energy
cards and Trainer cards. You have to use Energy cards to use some
attacks. For example, Drowzee's Confuse Ray attack uses up two
psychic Energy cards, and Weedle's Poison Sting attack uses up one
grass Energy card. There are energy cards for every kind of Pokemon.
There are several kinds of Pokemon cards. One of my favorites is the
legendary card Zapdos. It has a power called peal of thunder witch
knocks out 30 HP and big thunder witch knocks out 70 HP. There are
several kinds of Trainer cards. One of my favorites is  Gust of Wind.
It lets you switch your opponent's active Pokemon with one of
his/her benched Pokemon. Another one I like is called Pluspower. It
adds 10 HP to one of your attacks. This card game is very fun, and
you can get it at several stores. You should call the store to see
if they have it before you go. There's a pretty good chance it won't
be there because it's really popular.
