Jungle Fever Racing was founded by Marcel Schot on 2 february 1997. The sole reason for forming the team was to start racing in the Little Formula Racing Series. For the first season, the newly formed team, agreed to an enginedeal with Hyundai Motors and a tyredeal with Bridgestone. Together with the formation of Jungle Fever Racing two sponsors were introduced: Jungle Fever Software and Oreade Software. Owner Marcel Schot started out as the team's single driver in Class C.

On 5 february the team signed a second Class C driver. As Marcel Schot's long time friend and co-owner of Jungle Fever Software, Marcel van den Brink also became co-owner of the team.

The 8th of febrary will go into history as a great day for Jungle Fever Racing. At 3:18 AM CET the JFR-97/01 was presented in a theater in Ede, the team's homebase.

On 17 february the dream finally became reality: Jungle Fever Racing started in their first GP. Both drivers reached the finishline unlapped and the team was very happy with this debut.

Within one month, on 28 february, Jungle Fever Racing expanded beyond Class C. On that day Marcel Timmer was contracted as the team's first Class D driver.

On 7 march the team also expanded beyond the Dutch border by starting a cooperation with Ken Lees' Lucan-F1 team. The cooperation consists of the sharing of knowledge with a possible merger in the 1997-1998 season.

Only one day later Jungle Fever Racing signed a full-time designer to their staff : Edwin van den Brink.

The team, one of the fastest growing teams in the LFRS, on 13 april signed yet another driver: Bart Gunneman was signed as the first Class B driver, causing Jungle Fever Racing to participate in 3 classes from the Italian GP.

Within a month, on the 8th of may, Bart got a teammate in Class B. Jere Santala from Finland was signed, making Jungle Fever Racing an international team.

After the ending of their first season, the team started looking forward to the next season by signing a 1 year deal with Mitsubishi Motors. A full lineup has been established by the renewal of all 1996/97 contracts and the addition of Edwin van den Brink, Gerhard Alink and Ken Lees.

At the beginning of june the idea was launched by co-teamowner Marcel Schot to start a second Jungle Fever Racing team. On 20 june the Tropic Fever Racing team was officially started. On that day the first driver for Jungle Fever Racing's Class A team was also contracted: Stefan Petrovic will compete from the start of the 1997/98 season.

Right from the beginning of july, things went fast with the new team. On the 2nd of july the team signed Dejan Ledinsek and Alessandro Bordin to drive for Tropic Fever Racing. Tropic Fever Racing also announced having signed a 2 year deal with Porsche.

On 12 july, all LFRS camera's were pointed to the famous Bercy in Paris for one of the most spectacular events in LFRS history: the presentation of the 1997/98 Jungle Fever Racing car. An in-depth review can be viewed here.

In the weeks following the presentation, Jungle Fever Racing signed another two drivers: Hannu Tuomainen and Jan Nottmeier. Meanwhile also Tropic Fever Racing expanded by signing Matej Keglevie, Ilan Croiteru and Juuno Tainio.

During the rest of august Ilan Croitoru switched to Jungle Fever Racing and Eric Cabrit signed to Jungle Fever Racing, completing the team's lineup.

The start of september marked another highlight in Fever Racing history: the Jungle Fever Racing Touringcar team was started by Hannu Tuomainen and Stefan Petrovic. As a third driver the team signed ?. Meanwhile Fever Racing expanded its formula 1 operations into other leagues than LFRS aswell: Fever Racing-BMW started in the first season of the Husqvarna Sprint Racing League with Marcel Schot and Bart Gunneman and Fever Racing-Alfa Romeo made its debut in the Digital World Championship, again with Marcel Schot. Finally Fever Racing entered into the Leo Hotlap Championship, in which Marcel Schot and ? compete in the digital division.

During september and october things went quite rough for the whole organisation. Stefan Petrovic didn't take part in the Touringcar team anymore, Ken Lees stepped out of the team and Ilan Croitoru was replaced with Milan Sismanovic. Another 2 additions to the TFRO crew were also presented: Nino Arndt joined Fever Racing-BMW in the Husqvarna Sprint Racing League, which caused the teamname to be changed into Magnussen Fever-BMW, and joined the JFR/TPTCC team.
