Press Release (13 october):
Jungle Fever Racing has replaced Class D driver Ilan Croitoru
with Milan Sismanovic. Due to the short time towards the Adelaide
race, Milan will start driving at Interlagos.
Team announcement (2 october):
Ilan Croitoru, Class D driver for JFR, has been set out of the
team after abusing and threatening team co-owner Marcel Schot for
the second time. His disqualification at Silverstone was the
cause. After announcing this to him and explaining the possible
cause, he erupted into verbal abuse. The only measure was
exclusion.
Press Release (30 september):
The Fever Racing Organisation has some mixed feelings about the
pre-season testing. On one side, the results of Jungle Fever
Racing were promising, especially Eric Cabrit's 4th place in
Silverstone. On the other hand the season started disasterous for
Tropic Fever Racing. Only one car started at Estoril, but got
disqualified due to an error in the TAG-Heuer timing sensors on
the car.
The team's co-owner Marcel Schot said in a short statement after
the Silverstone session 'We're happy with the way the Mitsubishi
engine is handling. Eric showed the car has a lot of potential.
Among the other drivers it was clearly visible that the car has
the speed needed, but that it's very early in the season. We hope
things work out as well at Tropic Fever as it did with Jungle
Fever.'
Team announcement (21 september):
Ken Lees has left Jungle Fever Racing to start his own team. In a
mail to the teammanagement he said 'After giving it a lot of
thought I have decided to resign from JFR. I am going to re-form
the Lucan Motorsport team for the new season. Thanks for
everything and good luck for the season.'
Press Release (25 august 1997):
Today Jungle Fever Racing has signed one of last year's aces Eric
Cabrit to drive in Class A. Eric joins Stefan Petrovic to
complete the Class A team.
Press Release (3 august 1997):
Today Jungle Fever Racing signed their second Class E driver.
American Jan Nottmeier will drive for the team next season.
Marcel Timmer will move to Tropic Fever Racing, being more
confident in the Porsche engine.
Press Release (24 july 1997):
Jungle Fever Racing today contracted their 9th driver. Hannu
Tuomainen will defend the teams honours in Class A.
On the 12th of july 1997 Jungle Fever Racing presented the new 1997/98 car. For an in-depth review check the presentation
