How cruel is that? When Stephen gets back in the public eye again this year, make sure you all support him so that he can prove his critics wrong! Also, note to Heat magazine: you featured Posh Spice on 17 of your 56 covers last year and you seem to have a rather unhealthy obsession with her. And where exactly is her career these days? (Sorry if you're a fan of Victoria!)

In the meantime, it has now emerged that SM:TV Live is having 4 presenters. Stephen, you may remember, was one of the people who were being looked at for the job. However, Stephen isn't going to be one of the two extra presenters either. Bosses have already got Cat Deeley and James Redmond to front the show, and now they have added Tess Daly and Big Brother winner Brian Dowling. Brian and Tess will do celebrity interviews and sketches. Brian, as you may remember, was being looked at for the job along with Stephen, as well as other people, and so presumably Brian's new job would have been Stephen's had he got it instead. Brian will get 500 pounds each show and, as you may also know, I love Brian to bits, but think Stephen would be better! Seeing as Stephen has been in the UK recently, apparently *working*, I wonder if he was in town for the SM:TV job?

3/1/02~ Stephen bought Eloy a John Lennon picture for Christmas and they say that they had a great Christmas and New Year together (painting the town red in Amsterdam on New Year's Eve by the sounds of it!). Their fantastic New Year's Eve seems to have taken its toll on Stephen- he has been spotted looking a little worse for wear, and even buying paracetamol and aspirin lol!

Stephen and Eloy might take a holiday together, either before the football match, or the week after the football match, but they aren't sure about that yet.

Eloy has also said that he is having difficulty getting used to the new EURO currency in Holland...and jokingly said that it took Stephen 3 years to get used to the Dutch guilders! Lol!

31/12/01~ It looks like Mrs Gately might have met Eloy's family at last! Margaret was at Stephen and Eloy's house this morning, after spending Christmas with them. The only member of Eloy's close family she wouldn't have met though is Eloy's mother, as she is currently on holiday. Both Michelle and Tony have also spent Christmas at the Gately de Jong household and so the majority of the Gately clan were there! Stephen and Eloy spent this morning away, but no doubt they are preparing for their New year celebrations tonight!

In the meantime, some of you have told me that you've been having problems with the link I gave you yesterday for Stephen's site. The problem could be that the link should open in a new browser window and so if you already had windows open, the link most likely opened in one of them and so, therefore you probably didn't see it. 30/12/01~ It looks like Stephen is getting in shape for his football match in a few weeks time...Stephen and Eloy were spotted playing football with their dogs a few days ago! I have reason to believe that the dogs would probably have been far better at playing than Stephen lol!! Only joking... It's also great to hear that Stephen and Eloy are still very happy together. They were also recently spotted nuzzling on each other's necks and nibbling on each other's ears again! After having a massive Christmas dinner, you wouldn't have thought that they'd *still* be hungry lol! (Big thanks to CAREN and MAARTJE for this info!)

In the meantime, FRANCESCA has discovered for us (thanks!) that if you go to http://web.archive.org/web/20010615055655/www.stephengately.com/index2.htm, you can see some parts of Stephen's official website! So make sure you go and have a look whilst we're waiting patiently in hope that it will come back one day!

Also, some of you may have been experiencing problems with seeing some of the older pictures and video captures. I am trying to sort that out at the moment and the problem should hopefully be fixed by the end of the week.

29/12/01~ Stephen's big sister Michelle was today spotted at the house where Stephen and Eloy live and so this proves that rumours surrounding Stephen and Eloy's "split" have been grossly exaggerated. Stephen and Eloy are still obviously very much together and spent Christmas as they had previously planned- together with their family and pets around them! I know that many of you had been worried about their relationship recently, but you can all stop worrying now!

In the meantime, Keith talks about Stephen in an interview with lads mag FHM, quotes from which have been printed in today's Irish Star. Talking about an incident where he ended up sleeping under the front wheels of a school bus, Keith reveals how he owes Stephen his life. Because Stephen is such a bad traveller and always sits up front, he could hear Keith snoring. If he hadn't, Keith would have been run over! Keith also talks about a prank which made Stephen's trousers rip on stage- and led to Stephen not talking to him for a while afterwards! I'm sure most people have already heard about this incident, but Keith says, "instead of taking it as a joke, he f***ed off stage and got the roadies to gaffer up his f***ing jocks". Keith adds jokingly that, "he didn't speak to me for about .......well, he hasn't spoken to me since."

28/12/01~ Following on from the news that Steps have split up, the MIRROR newspaper have decided to take the opportunity to- what else- slag Stephen off! In an article entitled "POP GOES YOUR CAREER", the newspaper discusses the careers of former band members, referring to the people who haven't been successful as "the Andrew Ridgeleys, the Gary Barlows and the Stephen Gatelys." About Stephen, the newspaper writes, "Stephen Gately announced he was gay to cries that he was committing celebrity suicide. Those critics weren't far wrong. Last spotted in McDonald's in Dublin, the 25-year-old now lives in Amsterdam." Hmn, well, if I remember correctly, the Mirror were pretty miffed that The Sun had got hold of Stephen's story before they did. Not bitter are we guys?!?!?!? (Isn't sarcasm a wondrous thing????)

In the meantime, I have been asked by a friend of mine to warn you all about a conwoman who is going round at the moment offering her Caught In The Act and Eloy photos for sale. Once she has received the money for her photos, she will keep the money and not send the photos out. Instead, she will go elsewhere and sell her photos again, and do exactly the same thing. She comes from Vienna (in Austria) and seems to be calling herself "Barby" at the moment. She prefers calling herself after members of the Kelly Family, but her real name is Gloria Wenisch. 2 of her e-mail addresses are [email protected] and [email protected]. As well as selling her photos on guestbooks and websites, she is also known to use online auction sites like Ebay. So, whatever you do, DON'T buy anything from her!

27/12/01~ Stephen's official website- stephengately.com- has now been turned into a search engine, after becoming a porn site for a few months, and then a casino site! Although it is looking less and less likely that Stephen's website will ever be back, at least we can rest in the fact that it is now a nice site and not a horrible site full of pornography :)

In the meantime, the film Billy Elliot- which Stephen's song I Believe was the theme tune to- was the 8th biggest selling video of this year.

And, this isn't Stephen-related but I thought that some of you might like to know that chart-topping group Steps have decided to split after 5 years together :(

In the meantime, Stephen actually stayed with Keith and Lisa a lot of the time when he was in Dublin recently, and so it's great to hear that they are still as close as ever!

14/12/01~ You'll be pleased to hear that Stephen has now recorded some bits and pieces for a forthcoming Boyzone documentary. Mikey, Keith, Shane and Stephen have now all recorded interviews for the documentary. Ronan is the only member of the band not to have recorded anything for it so far. As far as I can tell, the documentary will be screened some time in the new year. Don't forget that Ronan is on BBC1 at 10.35pm tonight.

Stephen is due to fly home to Amsterdam in the next few days. He is currently in the UK.

13/12/01~ Stephen made a brief appearance on Lorraine Kelly's show on Sky 1 this morning. Apologies that I didn't put it on here, but I only found out about it 20 minutes before it was due to be on. Anyway, Stephen looked absolutely gorgeous and he was wearing an identical ear-ring on his left ear to the one which Eloy was seen wearing in Germany on Monday- and the earring is so sparkly that it blinds the eyes lol! Stephen appeared on the show, along with Keith, as he and Keith trawled the bars of Dublin, and even found time to sing Jingle Bells! Lorraine Kelly also said on the show that she loves Stephen cos he's a "wee angel", and that she wants to get the rest fo boyzone on the show and reunite them all lol!

Also, Stephen wasn't wearing his commitment ring on the TV show, but this is nothing for you to panic about. I personally think that they are having new rings made for Christmas or something, but they have definitely not split up, and so I would appreciate it if people would stop e-mailing me about it, because I seem to be repeating myself all the time lol! Eloy actually did a rather sweet interview with Chamaeleon Press before his concert on Monday and the things he says about Stephen are so sweet! Eloy reveals in the interview that he sleeps with their new cat Lucky at night (wonder what Stephen thinks about that!), that he would like Stephen to come on the road with him when he gets his solo career up and running (well, at least we'd still get to see Stephen from time to time!), and that they plan to have a really romantic Christmas together! Eloy says that they will decorate the house and roof so it looks really beautiful, and will buy 3 Christmas trees so that the house looks really romantic. Eloy says that he is very pleased with their plans, and that the time before Christmas is also very cosy and romantic for them. Eloy also reveals that they ran around outside their house together when they found out that the story about their relationship had been sold (guess they were pleased then!) Eloy also talks about marriage, adoption, and what he thinks of all the sweet things Stephen has said about him. Eloy says that Stephen is his "sweetheart". All together now, awww bless!! 12/12/01~ I know that a lot of you would like to have seen Eloy's concert from Monday, and last night I disovered that bits of his performances have been put online! So, click here to watch a bit of Eloy's performances of "We Can't Go Back" (a groovy Stay-like number!), "This Place In Time" (which Eloy says is a very personal and special song to him and which, I suspect, was written about Stephen), and "We Belong Together" (an old CITA song). In the meantime, seeing as a lot of you have been asking me about it, I thought I'd mention it in here. Yes, it is true that Eloy wasn't wearing his commitment ring at Monday's concert, but this does not mean that him and Stephen have split up, and nothing has been confirmed or denied to suggest otherwise. Eloy only said on Monday that he was looking forward to Christmas, especially as Stephen would be spending it with him and so, for the moment, let's accept that as the truth.

Finally, I bought a Christmas card yesterday for Stephen and I wondered if anybody would like their names added to it? I thought it would be a good idea so that Stephen's letterbox isn't flooded with way too many Christmas cards this year! If you would like your name added to it, then please e-mail me and leave your name and country, and any little message you would like added. But you need to do this by FRIDAY, as there isn't a lot of time left!

11/12/01~ Unfortunately, Stephen wasn't at Eloy's big concert yesterday :( However, the good news is that he is WORKING in the UK and Ireland, and so let's hope that he is working on some fantastic new project that's gonna blow us all away next year! However, he will be spending Christmas and New Year with Eloy, and they might also be taking a little holiday together in the new year, before Stephen returns to Ireland for the charity football match. 10/12/01~ The film Superstition- which Stephen did a song for- seems all set for release in Holland any day now, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of a possible soundtrack for it, and so I'll keep you posted on any further news on that. Something which I thought you might be interested in, is the official Superstition website at http://www.superstitionthefilm.com. This is, presumably, the same film as the one which Stephen did a song for, and you can also watch a trailer for the film on the front page of the site. Made by movie masters in Amsterdam, Superstition is a psychological thriller inspired by a true story. When a baby is killed in a mysterious house fire, the child's young english nanny is arrested and accused of murder. The italian press in convinced she is a witch, for, in the italian courts, you are guilty until proved innocent. The cast list consists of a pretty much unknown cast, and so I don't know what Stephen was talking about when he said Kate Winslet was in it!

In the meantime, tickets fot the Allstars charity football match went on sale today. Gates open at 1.45pm, ready for kick off at 3pm, and the event is sponsored by 7Up, FM104, and The Star newspaper. Therefore, I should think it is worth keeping your eyes and ears open for any news that might appear on radio FM104, or in The Star.

8/12/01~ Seeing as some of you have been asking about it, I thought you ought to know that the Keith/Stephen Allstars football match is due to start at approximately 3pm on January 26th. I hope this helps people if they need to sort out flight times or anything like that! Tickets go on sale at ticketmaster.ie on Monday. If you are booking tickets, it is important that you type in DREAM TEAM V KEITH DUFFY ALLSTARS, as that is what the event is listed as. Good luck if you are booking tickets! 7/12/01~ Stephen has said that he hopes to get back to work, by either singing, writing or acting. Speaking at a press reception for the Dream Team/AllStars football match on Monday night in Dublin, Stephen stated what we had all hoped to hear- that he is hoping to get back to work, and won't be giving it up! Keith joined Stephen at the press reception, and both said that they will be publicising the event together. Whether this means that they will be doing interviews and things like that, I don't know, but it might be worth keeping an eye and ear open for any news on that! If any interviews are to be done, you will read about it on this site, of course! Stephen and Keith also both admitted that they would love for a Boyzone reunion tour to happen- with Stephen saying that he would "cut my hand off to do it. I really miss Boyzone." Keith also revealed how recent press reports about friendships with Ronan Keating were back on track, have been highly exaggerated. Keith says, "I did meet him in the airport all right. I was just sick and tired of him avoiding me so I went over. But we're not friends again by any means. We just said 'hello, how are you?' I think Ronan put it about that we were all pals again in order to win back all the old Boyzone fans. They've all turned against him because of the way he treated the rest of us."

In the meantime, Def Leppard star Joe Elliott has joined Keith's team. Also, members of S Club 7, Dane Bowers, and Dean Gaffney and Jack Ryder from Eastenders, will also be coming over for the event.
Keith has also revealed that it took a lot of persuading to get Stephen to join the team lol!

6/12/01~ MORE FOOTBALL NEWS: Showbiz Ireland has been appointed as the official website for the Dream Team/Keith Duffy All-stars charity football match. The website will be exclusively covering the event and will also be adding all the latest news as and when it happens.
Michael Greco (Beppe from Eastenders) has now expressed an interest in joining Stephen, Keith et al in their football team next month.
Stephen and Keith joined members of the press at the Clarion Hotel to announce details of the match on Monday. It has also been revealed that members of the casts of Coronation Street and Eastenders, as well as personalities from international chart-topping pop groups taking part in the Childline concert at The Point the following day, will also be joining in the fun.
The latest celebrities who have signed up for Keith Duffy's Allstars are boxers Michael Carruth and Jim Rock, and singer Jack Lukeman.
Make sure you keep checking out Showbiz Ireland for all the latest news on the event, as well as this site too, of course!
If you live in Ireland, it might be worth keeping an eye on the TV listings, just in case Stephen and Keith do any interviews about it, or in case there is coverage of it on TV. It might also be worthwhile checking out Tara TV too, if you live in the UK.

5/12/01~ Following on from yesterday's news, about Stephen appearing in a charity football match, a couple of pictures have been released of Stephen, Keith and members of the "Keith Duffy's AllStars" football team, which were taken in Dublin on Monday. Other members of the team have been announced, and they include boxers Steve Collins and Jim Rock, and broadcaster Eamon Dunphy.
The AllStars will take on Harchester United, which is the cast of TV's Dream Team, in Dublin next month. Keith has taken on the responsibility of being captain and manager for the AllStars. Stephen is renowned for his hatred of football, but seems to have become quite interested in it since Euro 2000 was held in Holland last year. Stephen admitted to watching all the matches on TV, wearing his orange top that Eloy bought him, and he also went to one of the matches! Stephen was often teased for his lack of, ahem, ball skills by the rest of Boyzone. He recently played football on SM:TV Live and, I have to say, he was rubbish!
Tickets to the event are available at ticketmaster on Monday, and are priced at �10 each.

4/12/01~ Stephen will be playing in a charity football match in Dublin on January 26th 2002!
Boyzone band mate Keith Duffy has put together a football team called "AllStars" and, as well as Stephen, Mikey Graham will also be playing, as will snooker player Ken Doherty and comedian Brendan O'Carroll.
They will play against the Dream Team football team, which consists of cast members of the popular Sky 1 show.
Money raised from the match will go directly to Childline.
You can watch Stephen in action (and see his rarely-seen legs too!) at Dublin's Tolka Park on January 26th, which is the day before the annual Childline Concert.

1/12/01~ Stephen is still in Ireland at the moment- he seems to be on a bit of a long break out there, as he has already been there for the best part of 3 weeks! In the meantime, Eloy will perform his first gig in 2 years at gay event "Dreaming of a Pride Christmas" in Cologne, Germany on 10th December. 30/11/01~ I e-mailed Stephen's management a couple of weeks ago, regarding Stephen's Dutch single, and I finally got a reply yesterday. Unfortunately, it's not exactly good news. This is what the e-mail says:

Sorry it has taken so long to reply, as I know you first e-mailed us 2 weeks ago, but we have been quite busy with Hear'say's new single and album.

Anyway, unfortunately, it looks like the song which Stephen was going to release in Holland, isn't going to happen after all.

If it is the song which I think you mean, then it is called "When She Smiles" and was recorded for a film called Superstition.

We now think that a Dutch band is recording and releasing the film instead.

However, Stephen's version of the song may still be on the soundtrack to the film, and so I would keep an eye out for that, just in case.

We'll keep you informed if anything changes, as it is still not 100% clear what will be happening with the song.

So, although the single isn't likely to be released, at least there is still hope that it could be on the soundtrack instead. I'll keep my eye open for the soundtrack, and will let you know if the song has made it on to there.

In the meantime, according to NOW magazine, Stephen is still very much in the running for the musical BILLY LIAR. He will face strong competition though from ex-Eastender Sid Owen, soap actor-turned-singer-turned-west end star Adam Rickitt and, surprise competition from The Royle Family's Ralf Little. According to Now, they are all battling it out for the lead role in the all-singing, all-dancing musical.

26/11/01~ It seems that Eloy has managed to cut down on his smoking- even though he still has a long way to go! Stephen aparently started smoking in order to help Eloy quit (some of you may not understand the concept of that, but it's reverse psychology and, trust me, it works!) and it seems that it has really helped. Although Eloy still smokes a lot, at least it's a step in the right direction!

Also, I thought you'd like to know that Michael Ball is heading the cast for next year's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical. So we can cancel that as a possible musical venture for Stephen lol! Although Stephen's not in it, I am looking forward to seeing it myself next year :)

25/11/01~ I've managed to have a look at the MTV Awards now and it seems that whoever thought Stephen was in the audience mistook him for some guy out of Blink 182 lol!! I don't know how anyone could mistake Stephen for some rock star, but it seems that there isn't any proof that Stephen was there. He was probably watching it from the comfort of his own living room!

23/11/01~ Stephen has been in Dublin over the past few days, visiting his brother Tony and niece Leah, whose birthday's it was at the weekend. It seems that Stephen was in Dublin without Eloy though.

I also forgot to mention this on here a few weeks ago, as the more important news about Stephen's Disney single kind of took priority, but now I've been reminded of it by something being said on the message board. Anyway, Stephen and Eloy were apparently at the MTV Awards. There was someone fitting Stephen's description, wearing a baseball cap, seen in the audience during the award given to an aids charity. I saw the MTV Awards myself, but didn't see Stephen at all (even though I was keeping a look out for him "just in case"). I am now trying to get hold of a copy of the show so I can check for myself. I will hopefully be able to tell you more then. In the meantime, if anyone can help with getting a copy of the MTV Awards for me, please e-mail me at [email protected]

Oh, and for the people who wanted to know, yes, Harry Potter is an absolutely brilliant film and would have been even better with Mr Gately in it! Oh well, there's always Harry Potter films 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7...

21/11/01~ This is just a bit of an update on Stephen's single in Holland! I know that lots of people have been asking about it and I'm afraid that there is still no more developments on from when I first broke the news. Stephen has been telling fans recently about the single, but it seems that he hasn't been saying any more about it than Safe Management have. I will try and contact Stephen's management at the beginning of next month in hope that they will be able to tell us more about it!

I'm going to see the Harry Potter film tomorrow, but it just won't be the same without Stephen in it *sniff sniff*. Why they turned him down for a role, I'll never know!

17/11/01~ Comedians David Walliams and Matt Lucas are most famous for dressing up as famous popstars and taking the mick out of them. Recent highlights include H and Lee from Steps and Elton John and his partner David Furnish! TONIGHT on Play UK, Walliams and Lucas are appearing on a TV show called "Rock The Blind". The show will be revolving around a number of "popstars" making a pop comeback by doing a charity record. As well as Gary Barlow, other celebrities appearing include "Ronan Keating" and "Stephen Gately"! It looks like it should be a lot of fun, and Matt Lucas looks great dressed up as our Stephen! Sadly, I won't be able to watch it, so if anyone does manage to video it and would be able to make me a copy, please let me know. Thanks!

8/11/01~ Following on from yesterday's news, I know that some people have been a bit confused about it all, and whether this means Stephen has a new record deal etc etc. So, I thought I'd clear up a few things on here. Firstly, this does NOT mean that Stephen has got a record deal with a Dutch record company or anything! Basically, Disney own the companies Wonderland Music Company Inc and Walt Disney Music Company and so, any songs released from Disney soundtracks, are published via these companies. Like, Shooting Star, for example. So I should think that Stephen will be releasing the song through these companies. Secondly, yes, unfortunately, it will only be released in Holland. And, finally, neither the name or title of the film and song are known at this time. I am making an educated guess that it's for the Dutch version of Disney's Atlantis (great film!), but I don't know for sure. As far as I can tell though, the next Disney film- Monsters Inc- isn't released until February 2002. For more, check out the faqs page.

Also, I should tell you that Stephen and Eloy being on The Billy Elliot Boy was only a 2 second clip from the Billy Elliot premiere. It was lovely seeing them again though!

7/11/01~ EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!!! Stephen is releasing a ballad for Disney in Holland next month!! I contacted Stephen's management, Safe Management, today, who confirmed to me that Stephen will indeed be releasing a Disney song in Holland next month, although they have no more information on this at present. I will let you know if/when I hear anymore about this. In the meantime, if you don't live in Holland, it's time to start being nice to all your Dutch pals!!

Safe also told me that Stephen's official website was sold without their knowledge, but they are currently in dispute to get it back and will hopefully have Stephen's website up and running again by next week.

There was also some rumour going round that Stephen was releasing a song in America for New York, but this is 100% untrue.

Stephen�s management have also told me that they don�t know when we will Stephen again in the UK charts, but there is currently a Boyzone documentary being made, and so we will see him in that.

Finally, if you watch Pop Idol on ITV, then you'll know that contestant Juliana Hoy came 5th in the first live show at the weekend. She has revealed that she took part in the Pop Pickers segment of BBC Music Live last year, which is where Stephen performed If Only You Were Here. Juliana says that she met S Club 7, Stephen, and Gloria Gaynor, but Gloria was the nicest!

Oh, and I noticed something interesting on I Love 1999 at the weekend! Sadly, Boyzone and Stephen weren't mentioned :( But, Stephen is always being teased by the rest of BZ for sticking his tongue out when he sings, and on I Love 1999 last night, there was proof of Britney Spears doing the exact same thing!!!

Also, Stephen and Eloy were on The Billy Elliot Boy (BBC1, last night).

1/11/01~ According to The Sun newspaper, Ant and Dec HAVE confirmed that they will be quitting SM:TV and CD:UK on December 1st- but are being replaced by Hollyoaks star James Redmond (like, who? Exactly.). So, although Stephen was one of the four to be shortlisted for the role, he has lost out to some little-known actor, who's almost as bad at TV presenting as he is at acting!!! I don't know what ITV were thinking of, employing him, but I personally think that they've only given him the job because he looks good with Cat and they're hoping for a bit of sexual chemistry between the two of them, which they obviously wouldn't get with Stephen lol! James will join SM:TV and CD:UK after Christmas- and I am sure the ratings will plummet with him on board! (This is just my opinion though- I *so* think they've made the wrong choice!)

In the meantime, I just want to clear something up about the news on the site yesterday. Stephen and Eloy are NOT engaged, as some people seem to be getting a little ahead of themselves and presuming they are engaged just because it said on the site yesterday that they do plan to marry. Stephen just told a friend of mine that they plan to marry in the future, but not immediately, like next week or this week or anything like that. So they could marry next year, or it could be 5 or 10 years down the line! But they are NOT engaged; a wedding just looks a lot more definite now. See the faqs page for more about this.

31/10/01~ HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY TO STEPHEN AND ELOY!!!

Stephen and Eloy would like to thank everyone for the anniversary messages people sent in- they really enjoyed reading them all!!!

Also, Stephen and Eloy have said that they WILL be getting married, but not today like many people thought they would (well, that's what they say anyway!). They are planning on a wedding though and so that's something to look forward to in the future. Not that we'd get an invite though, of course!

At the moment, Stephen is enjoying spending lots of well deserved time with Eloy and is taking a break from showbiz and being in the public eye. He WILL be back though!

28/10/01~ After months of speculation and rumours, it is in the paper today that Ant and Dec will be presenting their last show of SM:TV on December 1st. You may remember that Stephen was rumoured to be taking over from them. However, Ant and Dec have always maintained that the rumours have been exaggerated and that they WILL leave at some point, but aren't sure when. Now it seems that they are getting ready to present their last ever show in 5 weeks time- leaving either 1 or 2 presenting roles open. Cat Deeley will be staying. According to the press, only 4 people have made it to the shortlist. They are Dermot O'Leary, Brian Dowling, Richie Neville and our very own Stephen. According to an ITV insider, Stephen and ex-Five singer Richie are strong contenders to take over, as they have both done bits and pieces for the show before. However, there is strong competition from Dermot who, as a well-known TV presenter already, is said to be a complete natural on screen. However, Brian Dowling seems to be the favourite at the moment. Ever since winning Big Brother 2, he has remained a firm favourite with the public and ITV bosses think that his popularity will ensure that SM:TV continues to be a ratings winner even after Ant and Dec leave. It looks like it is going to be tough competition, but I am sure we all hope Stephen will get it. 3 hours of Stephen every Saturday morning is my idea of Gately heaven! However, no official statement has been released by Ant and Dec yet, either confirming or denying the newspaper reports. If I hear anymore, I'll let you know!

27/10/01~ The NSPCC are auctioning off some celebrity handprints next month, including our very own Stephen's! So, if you fancy trying to bid for Stephen's print, you can either ring up the hotline, or pick up a bidding form at various GAP clothes stores around the country, including the one in Oxford Street, London. In the meantime, Keith reveals in an interview today that he and his wife Lisa are very close to Stephen and often go and visit him in Amsterdam for weekends. You can read the interview on the Boyzone news page.

Finally, my photos from Amsterdam will be developed on Monday and so they'll be on the site very soon- if they turn out, that is! There will also be a full report about my visit to Stephen and Eloy's house.

26/10/01~ I arrived back from Holland yesterday evening and so the site is back to normal now! Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Stephen and Eloy, but I did go to their house and had a look around their village. I also delivered the anniversary messages as promised. Although I didn't meet them, I do have a story to tell. I have already typed it out, and it will appear on the site soon, when my pictures have been developed. It seems that they were in Amsterdam when I was there though because they were apparently seen at a music shop. Stephen was waiting for Eloy outside or something, and then Eloy came out and showed him his new Shaggy CD, and Stephen busrt out laughing and Eloy laughed too. I wish I had been there to see that! Maybe next time when we go back (we are planning to go back to Holland in a couple of months time)...

In the meantime, it seems that Stephen's Official Site has been taken over by a pornography site. only stephengately.com is affected, but many people still think this is the official site and so it is very worrying that children as young as 8 or 9 could be subjected to such a thing. I've had a look at who now owns the domain name, and it seems that the domain name is for sale, and so it looks like someone has managed to hack into Stephen's website and create a porn site there instead. I don't think there is much we can do about it though, and so just make sure you don't let your children or yourself be subjected to the site as it is at the moment. I guess we can safely say though that Stephen no longer has an official site :(

21/10/01~ It was the STAR FOR A NIGHT final yesterday and so there was the tiniest clip of Stephen shown, but he looked LUSH! In case you're interested, Rachel Kelly, who won the heat which Stephen was judge in, came 9th overall, after receiving 41,556 votes. The overall winner was Mark Kerins, singing Lean On Me, who polled 153,914 of the votes cast!

In the meantime, I spent last night printing off all the anniversary messages people have sent me. And so, all things going well, they will be given to Stephen and Eloy in a couple of days :) This is just a little preview of what the book looks like:

15/10/01~ In the new issue of TV7 magazine, there is an interview with Keith and he is very sweet about Stephen! He says that it was always Stephen who had the best voice in Boyzone- and I'm sure we all agree with that! 10/10/01~ FINALLY!! After months of waiting, and 4 cancellations, we finally got to see Stephen on Star For A Night today! Although they did cut a tiny bit out, Stephen looked absolutely lush and gave out loads of really good advice to the contestants. He also saved the day when no one seemed to like the second act very much- he told her that she was fantastic and has a beautiful voice and beautiful eyes! He kept saying best of luck to everyone- and had Barbara Windsor in fits of giggles when he asked if anyone saw Boyzone's first performance on The Late Late Show!! Watch out for video captures and video clips from the show soon!

And, to promote new show The Race (on ITV2 tonight at 9pm and tomorrow at 10pm), Keith was asked who he'd least like to go on holiday with. He said Ronan, funnily enough! His new show requires teams to try and get to certain countries in the world with very little money and very little anything! About our Stephen, Keith says, "I don't think Stephen would be up to it, he'd break down, he needs to be cuddled and looked after. He doesn't like the rough life so much." Awwww, bless!

9/10/01~ IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!! Stephen's episode of Star For A Night is being shown TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY 10TH October) on BBC1 at 7pm-7.30pm!! This is according to the BBC website. The show normally lasts about 45 minutes and so I am presuming that they will be starting the show from where they interrupted it and so make sure you DON'T record over what you recorded on Sunday! I hope you all get this in time!!

7/10/01~ Unfortunately, Stephen's episode of Star For A Night was the show which was being screened today, but it has been interrupted by a news report about the war on terrorism! They were in the middle of the second act when the news report interrupted things and so the BBC have now officially confirmed that Stephen's episode of the show will be broadcast at a later date. It is as yet unclear as to when this will be, but I'll keep you updated on the latest updates on that! Stephen looked absolutely gorgeous (from what was seen of him) and he gave out some really good advice to the first act. She sang Kids by Robbie Williams and he told her that she was fantastic, and did really well with singing live and dancing at the same time (he even joked that he doesn't wear heels but she does and so she did incredibly well lol!) and he also told her how he practised signing his autograph from the age of 13 and that you need to be really determined to make it. Let's hope they repeat the show next week, otherwise I am writing a very strong letter of complaint to the BBC!!!

1/10/01~ Emma has started a campaign to get Boyzone to give us the TRUTH about the future of the band, by holding a press conference or something like that. She is planning on letting TV shows and magazines know about the campaign and, seeing as it is going to be a lot of work, she would like people's help with it. Also, the Smash hits Poll Winners Party takes place in December and, for the first time, you can vote online! I think it would be nice if Stephen was at least nominated in some of the categories and so get over to the Smash Hits Poll Winners Site now and place your votes!

In the meantime, today is the start of October and so this means that Stephen will be allowed to open the gold box which Eloy gave him for his birthday (see news archives for April). I hope that Eloy isn't mean and makes him wait until their 3rd anniversary at the end of the month! Anyway, I am dying to know what is in it! Wonder what it could be...

Also, I found a picture of Stephen today, and this is what I reckon his hair is like now (just imagine him with an ear-ring lol!):

Also, you'll know by now that Stephen wasn't on Star For A Night yesterday. Fingers crossed for next week's show which, by the way, starts at the EARLIER time of 5.30pm!
