This page will only include sites that I have found useful and those that I can verify are still in existence. Links last verified on: January 24, 2004
The Free Site - This is an excellent resource for free stuff for webmasters and everybody else. There are links here to all sorts of free things, including free web site locations and resources like guestbooks, counters and other things. But it doesn't stop there. You can also find information about other free things as well.
CompAge Solutions - A good resource for web development information and links to places where you can get free graphics and other goodies for your web pages.
Linkware Graphics
"Linkware Graphics" are web site graphics provided by generous artists who only ask that you provide them a link back to their site on the same page where you use the graphics. Most artists make their work available only for personal sites as well and they may have other rules too, so rather than try to give you the whole thing here, make sure you read their requirements before you download! I am selecting the "best of the best" for inclusion in this list. Each one of these talented artists has something unique to offer in the way of linkware grahics and you really need to visit them all just to appreciate the enormous diversity in subject, color choice and mood. Please forgive me if I tell many times how wonderful they are. I tried at first to be "objective" and finally realized that it wasn't going to work.
Quietsiren - Yet another source of enchanting linkware. In fact, I found the perfect set for use at a site I maintain, called "Tales from the Purple Dragon." Now if only I can find the time to update the site.
Visual Sonnets - Another collection that includes some truly unique items. Plan to spend some time here. I found these sets not only beautiful to look at but inspiring. I'm going to include a second link to this site here as well. This link to the Visual Sonnets Sandbox leads to a page with a small, but excellent, collection of grahpic tutorials. Now that I've played in the sandbox, I know how to make pears.
Graphics by Patti - I found this set tonight and ended up staying to examine every one of the sets available here. I know you'll like it.
Bimsan Web Graphics and Design - There is a large and varied collection here, including several really nice sets for children (of all ages!). I found this site a long time ago and lost the link. Now that I've found it, I plan to spend some time drooling over the graphic sets here. This is another one of those places where it's nice to visit and admire even if you don't need any graphics.
That Special Something - Lovely graphics and a few useful design tips. I saw quite a few Unicorn sets here. This place is well worth a look.
Cool Graphics on the Web - This is, to quote Gini Schmitz the page's owner, "the Mother Lode for graphics." Gini is also has her own free graphics site, Over the Rainbow. I'm not going to link to it here, however, only because there is a link to it at the top of this page. Take a look at her stuff. She has some really gorgeous textures.
Reciprocal Links
The links in this section are to sites that don't use my graphics and don't fit the category of this web site. What they have in common is that, for one reason or another, they have a link to the Tangled Web.
My Web Home for Families and Friends -- This is a personal site with a good selection of family-oriented links.
Rosemary West's Left-Handed Page - This site is included here for only one reason... I'm left-handed too, and the place has lots of fun and interesting information about left-handedness and other things! Have fun.
Miscellaneous Links
Romancing the Soul, edited by Dorothy Thompson. The easiest way to describe the book is to quote the editor, herself: "Do soul mates exist? You can find the answer to this perplexing age-old question in the anthology, Romancing the Soul--True Stories of Soul Mates from around the World and Beyond."
I have a story in this anthology. That is, if it doesn't get cut in final editing. I'll keep you posted.
