Topley

                   Mr. W.F. Topley




  Topley was founded by Mr. W.C. Lett just after the Canadian
National Railway was finished. Mr. W.C.  Lett named Topley after his, father-in-law, Mr. W.F.Topley, who was a photographer in Ottawa, Ontario at the time. Mr. W.F Topley never actually came to Topley, he later passed away, February 13th.

  The hamlet of Topley is located along highway 16, 20km from Houston and 40km from Burns lake. Also being only 48km from Babine lake which is the largest natural lake in B.C. Topley in the present has there own volunteer fire department and community club. The community of Topley with surounding area has about 500 people approx. Sunset lake, located 10min from Topley has camping, fishing & swimming to offer. The community of Topley with surrounding area (Six Mile to Perow Loop) has about 500 people approx.
