My name is James Fox... I was a Sergeant First Class (E-7) in the US Army. My wife, Shirley and I like to travel and get involved in adventures. We've been stationed in Germany, Korea, Japan, Hawaii, Singapore, Thialand, Turkey. I've been stationed overseas many many times in the army. I met Shirley while serving in the Ft. Eustis Virginia. We married in Dec '81. For us... art holds a special fascination.�Shirley is very creative and we both admire art. So, what do we like to do? We love exploring Europe. The museums are outstanding there and worth the time. Volksmarches are a uniquely German way of getting together with friends and exploring the countryside... We like volkmarching. Daytrips to cities around Bavaria are also way to learn about our host country. We lived about 60 minutes from the Czech Border... So we're in a good central location to explore and travel. Overall, I'd say we use to have a great time living and working in Europe...�Our most recent trip was an adventure across Europe. My mom came over from the States for three weeks. You can see our trip by clicking here. Memorial Day Weekend '90. We drove to Amsterdam, Holland with our friends. It's a two-hour drive from Vilseck, Germany. Shirley took several bus tour to Prague. We've been to Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic twice. More recently, we took a day trip with the military travel agency ITR in February '93. Venice and Vicenza, Italy... July '94... This was with a rental car with some friends. It took us eight hours to drive to Vicenza. We stayed in a hotel and visited my best friend, Ken Hudson and his family. Then there was our first trip to Paris, France and the Champagne Region... For our wedding anniversary last year, Shirley and I and some friends, Feroz and Gazala Khan, took a package bus tour to Paris. It was expensive, but worth it. One trip we really enjoyed was to Salzburg, Austria... This was a day trip during our four day weekend at the Armed Forces Recreation Center in Bertchesgaden, Germany. The center is closed now, but it was famous for scenic day trips like these. We've also traveled to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bertchesgaden, Trier, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Munich, Nuernberg and many other beautiful cities and towns in Germany.
