Spock's Brain

Kara: "Brain and brain, what is brain?"

Kirk: "No one may kill a man.  Not for any purpose. It cannot be condoned."

Kirk: "You'll learn to build houses to keep warm.  You'll work…. Humans have survived under worse conditions.  It's a matter of evolution.  Give it time."

Spock: "While I might trust the doctor to remove a splinter or lance a boil, I cannot trust him to replace a brain."

McCoy: "Of course -- a child could do it!"

The Enterprise Incident

Romulan Commander: "I have heard of Vulcan integrity and personal honor.  There is a well-known saying, or is it a myth, that Vulcans are incapable of lying."

Romulan Commander (re: Romulan society): "As a Vulcan you will study it.  As a human, you would find ways to appreciate it."

Romulan Commander: "Romulan women are not like Vulcan females.  We are not dedicated to pure logic and the sterility of non-emotion."

Romulan Commander: "Our people are warriors, often savage, but we are also many other pleasant things."

Romulan Commander: "You must have your own ship."

Spock: "It would be illogical to assume that all conditions remain stable."

Spock: "Military secrets are the most fleeting of all."

Spock: "It is not a lie to keep the truth to oneself."

Uhura: "The channels are open and you are tied in."

Salish: "Behold, the god who bleeds!"

And the Children Shall Lead

Don: "Parents like stupid things."

Kirk: "Most legends have their basis in facts."

Spock: "Without followers, evil cannot spread."

Spock: "Evil does seek to maintain power by suppressing the truth."
McCoy: "Or by misleading the innocent."

Spock: "Humans do have an amazing capacity for believing what they choose - and excluding that which is painful."

Kirk: "Most of us are attracted by beauty and repelled by ugliness - one of the last of our prejudices."

Kirk: "We're all vulnerable in one way or another."

Kolios, the Medusan Ambassador (through Spock): "…aloneness.  You are so alone.  You live out your lives in this shell of flesh, self-contained, separate.  How lonely you are; how terribly lonely."

Spectre of the Gun

Kirk: "We fight only when there is no other choice.  We prefer the ways of peaceful contact."

Spock: "Physical reality is consistent with universal laws.  Where the laws do not operate, there is no reality…we judge reality by the responses of our senses.  Once we are convinced of the reality of a given situation, we abide by its rules."

Spock: "Physical laws simply cannot be ignored.  Existence cannot be without them."

Spock: "Mankind - ready to kill."
Kirk: "That's the way it was in 1881."

Spock: "Those who hate and fight must stop themselves.  Otherwise it is not stopped."

Spock: "I suggest that good spirits might make an effective weapon."

Kirk: "Most people are afraid of being alone."

Odona: "It is like…when you see that the people have no hope for happiness…you feel great despair…your heart is heavy because you know you can do nothing…pain is like that."

Spock: "We must acknowledge once and for all that the purpose of diplomacy is to prolong a crisis."

Spock: "Diplomats and bureaucrats may function differently, but they achieve exactly the same results."

Losira: "I am for you James Kirk."

Spock: "Beauty is transitory."
Kirk: "Beauty survives."

Kirk: "Those pressures are everywhere - in everyone, urging him to what you call 'savagery.'  The private hells - the inner needs and mysteries - the beast of instinct.  As human beings, that is the way it is.  To be human is to be complex.  You can't avoid a little ugliness - from within - and from without."

McCoy: "…the things love can drive a man to - the ecstasies, the miseries, the broken rules, the desperate chances, the glorious failures, and the glorious victories."

Kirk: "We all do. The cave is deep in our memories."

The Cloudminders

Droxine: "And can nothing disturb this cycle?"

Kirk: "Light and warmth! That's necessary to all humanoids."

Spock: "Violence in reality is quite different from theory."

Spock (re: Ardana): "This troubled planet is a place of most violent contrasts.  Those who receive the rewards are totally separated for those who shoulder the burdens.  It is not wise leadership."

Spock: "Extreme feminine beauty is always disturbing."

Spock: "All the little things you and I understand and expect from life, such as: equality; kindness; justice…."

Spock: "To restrict a segment of the population to such hardship is unthinkable in an evolved culture."
