Some history |
In 1975 graduated with Honor from the Kalinin State University. In 1980 V.M. Samsonov defended his candidate thesis "Methods of homogenizing additional field in quasithermodynamics of interfacial boundaries". Since 1985 the scope of his interest concerns liquid crystals physics and (basically) wetting and spreading processes. He also had to do with capillary aspects of etherification of cellulose and some applied problems of the polymer thermochemistry. In 1993 V. M. Samsonov received his Doctor of Sciences degree (Ph. D.) from the institute of Physical Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences for his work "Methods of nonequilibrium thermodynamics in kinetics of isothermal spreading of liquid on surface of solid body". All the life of V.M. Samsonov as a scientist and teacher has been associated with Tver' University. Now he works as a professor of the General Physics department. |
