Dr. Vladimir M. Samsonov (born in 1953) is a well known in Russia specialist in the fields of molecular physics, physical and colloid chemistry. In 1975 he graduated with honor from the Physical Faculty of the Kalinin (Tver) State University. Since 1994 he is a professor of the General Physics Department. His Cand. Sci. Dissertation (1980) was devoted to quasithermodynamic theory of the liquid surface layers. The Ph.D. Dissertation "Methods of Nonequilibrium Thermodynamics in Spreading Kinetics of Liquids" was approved and well accepted by the scholarly committee of the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). In 1994-1995, he was the Principal Investigator of the ISF long-term grant program "Size effects in statics and dynamics of wetting". Since 1997, Dr. V. Samsonov is a member of the Scientific Council on Colloid Chemistry of the RAS. Being a professional scientist, Dr. V. Samsonov is seriously interested in humanities and social sciences. He has some publications in the fields of high and higher school education. Since 1992, he has been successfully lecturing to high school students and teachers and has also some obvious achievements in the area of organizing sphere of high school education. In 1994-1996 he was the Deputy Principal at the Rzhev (Tver Region) High School (lyceum) No. 10. Since 1997, he is the Deputy Principal at the Tver High School (lyceum) No. 44. Dr. V.M. Samsonov has more than 100 publications. He was a participant of a number of Russian and International scientific conferences. One of the last was the 2nd International Conference on High Temperature Capillarity (Krakow, Poland, 28.06-3.07.97). One of five Russian participants was a high-school student S. Muravyev, now he is a student of the Tver State University. | |||||
