On Average, 100's of Cadets are recruted every Year from for Training as Fighter Pilots(GD Pilots).They are then sent to PAF Base Risalpur for Training and Education At Risalpur, Cadets complete their B.Sc in 2 Years Then, from Risalpur, about 80 Cadet Pilots are chosen to be trained as General Duty Pilots. Then, Cadets are sent to PFT for Basic Flying At PFT, Private Pilot License is given to Cadet Pilot at just 11 hours of basic flying, and after receiving PPL, the Cadet Pilot does Solo. After Solo, the Cadet Pilot completes 53 hours at PFT, and after 6 months of basic flying at PFT, the Cadet Pilots on to BFT At BFT, the Cadet Pilots complete 135 hours on T-33 Aircrafts, this takes 1 year, and they also start flying K-8. After Successful completment of BFT, the Cadets Pilots go to Peshawar University to recieve their Degree in B.Sc At last, Cadets Pilots go back to Risalpur to March Past, here they recieve their Commission in the Pakistan Airforce by the Air Chief Marshal, and they are promoted to Pilot Officer from cadet pilots Out of the Batch of 12,000, Only 11 or 12 Graduate and make it as Pilot Officers. It takes 3 1/2 years for Cadets entering Risalpur to Graduate as Pilots. These Fresh Pilot Officers, from here, are sent to the 1st Squadron, which is the Fighter Conversion Unit (FCU). Here they fly K-8 and Ft-5 (Mig-15) aircrafts. After One Year of Training, they are promoted to Flying Officers, and then they are sent to either Fighter, Bomber, Attack, or Interceptor Squadron.They are Further Trained at their respective squadrons at either F-16 Bs, Mirage 5 DPs, Mirage 3 DPs, FT-7 Ps, or FT-6 for A-5s.After Finishing Training on their respective Aircrafts, they are promoted to Flight Leftinents (Ft/Lt), and they begin their life as Fighter Pilots (GD Pilots).
